Release date: Summer 2014
Expanding author N.R. Burnette's storyline of the KENJI universe, MANEKI'S CURSE is an old-school dungeon crawler about the slain god of war, Maneki, trying to escape the Labyrinth of the Underworld.

The longstanding god of war in the KENJI story is Gojun, who killed Maneki to assume his role as the new god. Now Maneki's soul is trapped in the Underworld--a rich labyrinth from which no soul can escape. But the former god of war's soul is unlike any other, and his vengeance has had an eternity to burn.

MANEKI'S CURSE is set to release just before the fantasy novel KENJI comes out this summer 2014. The game is being designed by author N.R. Burnette, who's works include the PAPHOS Series (book 1 is free on Kindle and all other ebook formats), CARGO LOCK 5, and KENJI. Music is composed and arranged by Forrest Clark, with original melodies from N.R. Burnette. This game is a dungeon crawler unlike any other utilizing timeless JRPG mechanics courtesy of RPG Maker VX-Ace.

Game design is complete--now finishing art. Working on that and polishing the KENJI novel too, it's late but worth the wait! The stories tie together. Thanks to everyone for your support

Lots of new work done on Maneki's Curse, this is one Labyrinth you will never forget, and it preps well into the ending of the KENJI novel. When I wrap it up I'll have to choose the next game I do.

For my next project, who digs a FPS based on my Paphos books? Scifi deathmatch on an alien planet with alien tech? A look at Book 1 here

Game would tie into the book series. Yay or nay?

I have a vision for this game, and the product is matching what it's supposed to be. I understand people who don't like the format, no problem from me. For the people this game is designed for, they will love it. My next project is on UDK, so you won't be seeing any borrowed resources there. Either way, it's a fun experience to try to escape this Labyrinth, and it opens up characters from the KENJI lore, which is a unique plus.

Yeah, don't let criticism impact you in any way, even when it is designed to get you to make something that isn't using 95% borrowed resources. I will not upvote a single rpgmaker game for that simple reason.
