One-Handed Fists allows players to improve their One-Handed skill through unarmed combat. In turn, unarmed combat is affected by the One-Handed skill and its perks. Great care has been taken to make the mod as seamless and compatible as possible.
Upon starting OHF, you will receive a pair of unarmed weapons entitled Bare Hands. These weapons can be added to your Favorites and you can view your current unarmed damage at any time. Using your Bare Hands will not interfere with any brawls or race changes either.
Many of the mod's features will work without the new weapons provided. In fact, only the Dual Flurry perk and the Elemental Fury shout require them. But trust me, you will want to use your Bare Hands once you see just how fast you can attack with them!
Lastly, One-Handed Fists does not require SKSE but fully supports SkyUI's Mod Configuration Menu. It does not alter any default scripts, objects, or actor values and should work with just about any mod out there, including other unarmed combat mods!

New to v1.21
  • Corrected duplicate weapon swing sound for Bare Hands weapon. (Thanks ZoneWarp!)

New to v1.2
  • Added SKSE detection.
  • Added new XP ability for SKSE users.
  • Elemental Fury actually works without the USKP now.
  • Mod perks no longer apply to other One-Handed weapons.
  • Mod Configuration Menu now uses localization-friendly strings.
  • Unarmed sneak attacks now do 6x damage with Backstab perk.

Known Issues
  • NPC's continuously draw and sheathe their weapon(s) when player is trespassing.
    • Fix: Install SKSE and enable the SKSE detection ability.
    • Workaround: Sheathe your own weapons/spells to stop this behavior.

    Do bash attacks improve One-Handed?
No, bash attacks improve Block. Same as before.
Can I gain One-Handed XP as a werewolf or vampire lord?
No. Any bonuses from the One-Handed skill and its perks are negated when you transform as well.
The rationale behind this is that both transformations have their own skill tree already.
Can I enchant or poison my Bare Hands?
No, I did not want to support either feature and Skyrim won't let you by default anyway.
You can still bolster unarmed damage through armor enchantments and the Fists of Steel perk though! There are also cloak spells that will enable you to deal elemental damage at close-range.
Why are the Critical Charge, Savage Strike, and Paralyzing Strike perks excluded?
System limitations, unfortunately. Skyrim only has animation support for a forward power attack and that same attack fires when the player is sprinting, standing still, or moving backwards.

Just one question: If you have a ring or gloves with the Fortify Unarmed enchantment currently equipped, will it effect the Bare Hands?

Does unarmed still get affected by the fists of steel perk in the heavy armour tree?
Kain-Xavier  [author] Jul 24, 2015 @ 4:54pm

They're added automatically but you can also disable and re-enable them through SkyUI's mod configuration menu.
