We got greenlit guys!
Release date: Late 2014
“Our game is about the darkness, the unknown. The characters walking in it symbolizes our fear of the unknown. At first, it is scary treading in a place full of danger and hardship but eventually you will find beauty and tranquility within the night. With some exploration, you will also find mysteries and events that hint at the past. It is like the future. The future is full of risk and uncertainty but if we have the courage to raise our lanterns and approach the darkness, we find beauty that we would have otherwise missed out on. And if a friend tags along, you will find the future less daunting when someone shines their light along with yours. That’s our interpretation but I’m sure others will come up with their own.” — John Wang

Never Ending Night is a 2D side-scrolling exploration game. As the Player, you roam through a mysterious world you have no recollection of. Traverse through a broken world and survive through the mechanical monstrosities that have managed to survive the calamity... But don't worry, cue in MLBY, a strange mechanical butterfly sidekick, and you'll be ready to illuminate your way past beauty, perils, and adventure. By interacting with objects and the environment you can overcome your enemies as you figure out the mysteries of both you and MLBY. Lanterns will mark your progress through the eerie darkness.

You can also play the side-story of a knight's memories in Expedition Mode as he tries to figure out what is going on and protect his village from the calamity. Each game mode will offer more insight into the past and the enigma surrounding the Player, MLBY, and the calamity.

  • Single-player
  • Cross-Platform (PC, Mac, Linux)
  • 2 Play Modes
  • Explore a world of past memories
  • Eye-catching visuals & serene music
  • Gives you the feels (not guaranteed to those those without a heart)
  • Expedition Mode:
    -Procedurally generated
-Followers that you can find in the main story mode
    -Extra power-ups and stats
-Different gameplay & ways to fight

Possible support for more languages in the future.

This doesn't look especially "physics-based" and the synopsis is terrible, but the game itself looks charming despite that.
