Video review of Crashed Lander
Not on Steam yet - but I can still have a sale. :)
Release date: Released
You've landed on the lunar research station.
Too bad you *crash* landed.

Download the free demo[] for Windows, OS X, and Linux

Outwit gravity. Race the clock. Explore new worlds.

This is a gravity-based arcade game inspired by classics like Lunar Lander and Space Taxi. You'll pilot your craft from pad to pad trying to beat your best time – then flirt with that fine line between speed and control. If you’re brave enough to try Hard Mode you’ll be flopping around like a QWOPy, low gravity turtle. With a little practice you’ll be zippin' around doin' barrel rolls.

You’ll see sites from the cutting edge of fractal mathematics, bizarre organic shapes, arcane archaeological digs, and all manner of WTFderful alien vistas. Each level is a hand-crafted landscape that encourages the player to explore - and goof around! You can also pilot your lander in virtual reality with your Oculus Rift.

This free demo is 5 level taste of the game. The full version includes:

  • 24 levels to conquer and explore in Time Trial mode
  • 10 levels in Ring Runner mode - fly through custom courses
  • Time Trial, Fuel Miser and Ring Runner high scores
  • Full Oculus Rift support
  • Full (xbox 360) controller support
  • Hidden collectibles on every level
  • An hour of spacey, glitch-hop music - mp3's included!
  • Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux versions

Check out for more development news.

“Crashed lander is really great! Play it with the autopilot off though”
Bennett Foddy,

“'s set in a wonderfully bizarre alien world that's absolutely worth exploring”
Konstantinos Dimopoulos,

“Crashing is just as rewarding as landing, which transforms Crashed Lander from an interesting experiment to a delightful low-gravity playground.”
Richard Moss,

Just played the free demo on the rift, it's a very addicting experience.

Thanks for the mini-review Qon. Glad you like the Hard mode - in the first version that was the only way to play and still my favorite. Thanks for the purchase, too. I'll be giving out Steam keys to everyone who's purchsed when I finally get onto Steam. bth and IndieGameStand make it easy to hand em out to customers.

"Even without Oculus: just play the VR mode cross eyed! This will give you 3D without glasses!"
No don't! It does not work with the cross eye method. It does work with the parallel viewing method but then you need to play in a really tiny window to be able to sync up the images.

Minireview of the demo:
Finished all levels in a few minutes with normal control scheme, was really easy and I think I crashed like once or so for ruching it. When I read the help text I saw that hard mode was "keyboard only" and I didn't use keyboard so I thought that was it and stopped. Came back later to try hard mode since later understood that the "qwsjio" qontrol scheme WAS hard mode.
Managed to pass the first level with the hard qontrol scheme after 89132916 tries, it took me many times longer to qomplete the first level in hard mode than all levels on normal... it's harder than Lunar Flight. That first level was one of the hardest first levels I've played in any game ever q: I love it!
Bought it. Will I get a steam key later?

Already Bought it on IGS. Would love to get it on here! Thanks! Dying to play on DK2!

I'll be updating the game as soon as I can after they release the new SDK and Unity plugins. I've already tested the prview versions, but I want to wait until the full version before releasing. Should look pretty spiffy in the DK2. :)

Look forward to playing this on my DK2 :D

Even without Oculus: just play the VR mode cross eyed! This will give you 3D without glasses! (Well, you probably shouldn't do this for longer ... )
