v2.3

"Genieß's Europe" is a multiplayer real map, carefully and strategically planned by Genieß from Norway.

The map is built with consideration towards historical events, yet balanced regarding each player's location and obtainable resources. The map is also similar to Random Maps, in terms of terrain, resources and starting units.

Features:
- 200 pop cap
- 2-8 players
- Giant
- Geographically accurate
- Balanced in terms of player location and obtainable resources

Due to starting locations and resources, the chosen civs for the players should be
Player 1 - Franks
Player 2 - Goths / Slavs
Player 3 - Saracens
Player 4 - Goths
Player 5 - Vikings
Player 6 - Byzantines
Player 7 - Teutons
Player 8 - Huns

Changes with v2.3:
- Detail changes
- Simplified some hills
- Removed two rivers
- Added "Hints" and "Scout"

For those who are interested, I have made a v2.4 with some small changes, but I have a problem publishing it under this same thread. Don´t want to spam the workshop with my small changes.

Fair enough Genie, some good reasoning there for a more balanced game. Do you think you'll ever consider making a map of more North-Western Europe, perhaps something along the lines of the Viking raids? It could have England (Britons), Scotland (Celts), Ireland (Celts), Normans (Franks) and the Danish / Norwegians (Vikings). Would make what's essentially a nice island map to give people time to build before rush. Just an idea of course, no pressure! :)

Perhaps fiddle with the map codes? Perhaps make everyone else AI instead of AI/Player?

Interesting idea. Do you have any idea about how I can make it more fit for singleplayer?

The reason that I havent included Britain is that its not enough space. Both on the island and considering distance to other civilizations. I could remove the landbridge, making the practical distance to the others bigger, but it would make the map even more of a water map, and I dont want that.
Removing a goth civilization would also make a huge gap in one or the other ends. But for diversity, my idea was that with Forgotten the slaves can replace the goths in Russia.

Thanks for all response. Love it. Hope to do more maps soon, but not much time for it. Working on a huge project, but very slowly.

Love the map, but just have a suggestion. Wouldn't it be better to include Britain and replace one of the Goth armies? Would make a more diverse game Civillisation-Wise and it's kinda obvious Britain has played a major role in European affairs over the last thousand or so years.
