Gran Vitreous Progress Report 2
  • New endless mode. Compete on the leaderboards to get the highest score in an endless zone. Dangers such as Asteroids, Gravity Wells, Space Garbage and more enter the zone randomly to challenge your survival. Gear is assigned randomly and a new set of gear is refreshed on your ship every 60 seconds so you have to adjust your play style to keep going.
  • New snake enemy. We've added a new enemy the Snake which moves around the zone in circular patterns testing your ability to maneuver around them.
  • New lighting additions. We've taken advantage of the new lighting system mentioned in the previous update and given the larger enemies new lighting features.
  • Rebalanced bosses. Bosses have been given another pass to make sure the challenge is up to the expectations of an area finale. Weaker versions of previous area bosses will now also come up randomly in later areas.
  • Redone store. The store has been redone to include items effective for your ships current level and also random rarer one time purchase items that swap out with time. Engineering an item to change its stats has also been given a slot machine style animation.

We're getting very close to a release version and hope to have a final build in the next couple weeks.

Also in case you missed the last progress report from a few weeks ago here it is:

Release date: Out Now
Gran Vitreous combines an arena shmup with the mechanics of a loot driven action RPG. Find and engineer your equipment as you level up your ship for battle against a galaxy filled with randomly generated encounters against enemies in asteroids fields, gravity wells, debris fields and much more.

Fight your way through a randomly generated galaxy as it unfolds in front of you. Each zone you encounter is unique; space stations, temporal rifts, large motherships, and massive army clusters are just some of the zone types you will find. In addition each zone is randomly given attributes that change the encounter, you could be fighting against larger tougher enemies in one zone and in another be battling in a tiny arena with slow firing enemies and your ships weapons are overcharged.

Enemies you destroy drop items and credits that you can use to upgrade your hull, shields, utility, main weapons, secondary weapons, and super weapons. Every piece of equipment is a unique piece of loot with randomly assigned stats and attributes. Item attributes are those you've come to expect from the loot driven subgenre (Critical hit chance, Increased item drop rate, Increased damage percent). There are multiple types of utilities, main, secondary, and super weapons. Cluster Missiles, Boosters, Temporal Lock, Homing Missiles, Photon Charger, Proximity Mines, and a Particle Cannon are just some of the item types you will find all with unique behavior.

You will also gain XP from enemies you destroy to level up and gain skill points as well as allowing you to use higher level items. Use your skill points to enhance your ship in the way you see fit whether its to strengthen your shields increase your firerate or increase the drop quality of your items. Forge the ultimate weapon of space destruction to fight your way through the toughest enemies and bosses towards the edge of charted space.
