Description
Welcome to GorgeCraft.

GorgeCraft is a mod designed for players to build and construct to their hearts content. The aim is to give as much freedom as possible to the players for building, letting their imaginations do the rest. It takes the Alien builder class from the game Natural Selection 2, and gives it a whole new lease of life, freed from the ravages of battling pesky Marines.

It's a little known fact that the kharaa aliens are completely different races, absorbed by the bacterium in it's quest to grow. Back on their peace-loving homeworld, Gorges love to spend all their time building, playing sports and sliding around on their bellies. It is their calling. GorgeCraft gives you an opportunity to experience Gorges operating in their natural habitat...

Containing 15 of the Alien buildings, and 10 Marine buildings while in ExoGorge mode, play away to your hearts content, making obscure art from the Alien buildings.

Recommended for playing on your own, or on a listen server with friends. There is no win condition, you just play until you are bored, and then close the game down.

I'm glad it is still working. :D

I have decided to move on from modding NS2 and onto new projects, therefore, I am no longer supporting GorgeCraft. I don't even have NS2 installed anymore.

If GorgeCraft should break, and anyone wants to carry on developing the mod, the source code is hosted here - https://github.com/SoulRider/GorgeCraft

Feel free to do with it as you will. I'd like to think that someone will take it up and keep it going. If you do, make sure to let me know, I'd re-install NS2 to play this game if it was properly supported :D

Nevermind my previous post, I forgot that I needed to load the gorgecraft maps

I also keep getting errors (black screen) when I try to join my gorgecraft dedicated server.

Server side:

Okay, thanks

OK, I've tested as have a couple of others and it runs fine for them, so this is possibly an issue with your set-up. There is a full nuke guide for your NS2 installation on the UnknownWorlds forums here: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/131428/obby-s-full-nuke-ns2-guide-only-way-to-be-sure If you are still having problems after following these instructions, then post back here. The other thing you must do, is turn off Steam Cloud before you start, otherwise it remembers your settings in the cloud.

GorgeCraft is back playable, although in a poor state. While working through the files for this build, I decided it's time to re-write the mod from scratch. I will continue to patch up the little problems that still exist after this latest update, then will dive into getting a fresh and uclean version released.

I am waiting for build 273 to come out, then I will work on a fixed version of GorgeCraft. After that, i will then carry on working on the update I am hoping to bring :)

I've just been introduced to the concept of gorgecraft and I'm excited to try it (and maybe run a server for a few friends if that's possible). Sadly this isn't possible due to the update as you stated in your previous post.

Do you have any idea when we can get our hands on a fixed version?
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Yes, unfortunately, a day or two after release, Update 272 was released for NS2. This once again killed GorgeCraft.

To be honest, I am getting really fed up of the fact that despite being more than two years old, NS2 is getting roughly monthly updates which breaks the mod everytime. I don't how much longer I can put up with the mod being broken by the CDT. There is a very good chance that unless they start cosidering mods I will just forget the whole thing and move onto a different engine.

Saying that, I am in the process of trying to develop a big update for GorgeCraft, whether I get around to releasing it or not depends on how much CDT keep breaking the mod.
