Description
Wizards of Winterhold V2.8

IMPORTANT: This is the final version of WOW that works without official DLCs. A brand new release is planned for 3.0 that does require official DLCs to work. You will have to subscribe to that new release separately and unsubscribe from this version since the two will NOT be compatible. If you do not have the official DLCs, just stay subscribed to this version.

I will post a link here to the DLC version when its ready.

Short Steam Version of the Docs

This is a Mage Quest Mod designed to make the College of Winterhold a lot more useful to Mage Players by adding new quests, new merchants, robes you can enchant, staffs, new voice acted NPCs, new recipes and a host of other new things. Over time more and more quests will be added to this mod and more and more new locations will appear that you can explore. Until this mod becomes a major quest mod in its own right.

Users of my older Oblivion Mod "Origin of the Mages Guild" should note this is not the Mages Guild, different lore applies here and different rules will be followed. This is a lore friendly mod but not a strict lore mod.

If you want to know more about this mod, see the full documentation for the mod over the Engineering Guild website linked above. Unfortunately the docs are too long and too detailed to be posted on Steam.

Support on Steam

This mod was made for me and my friends to enjoy, No support is offered, no complaints heard, no feedback wanted. Trolls, moaners, whiners and other idiots will be BLOCKED immediately. The mod maker only accepts feedback and bug reports via his own forum where he and his friends can be found.

Installation

Subscribe to the mod on Steam Workshop and then launch Skyrim, leave the Skyrim Splash Screen up and wait, if you look at data files the mod will appear in there when its downloaded and installed.

Uninstalling the mod

To uninstall the mod, unsubscribe from the mod on Steam Workshop and then delete the following files.

TEG_Wizards_Of_Winterhold.bsa
TEG_Wizards_Of_Winterhold.esp

Problem with the Mod ?

It is becoming clear that downloading from Steam Workshop sometimes corrupts the mod in random ways, if you experience issues, delete the esp and bsa whilst subscribed and let Steam reaquire the mods for you.

Steam Releases:

Due to service issues (upload/download issues/service down time), steam upload limits (100meg limit) and mod design limits forced on me if I wish to use Steam Workshop (No ESM support). Not to forget the general lack protection from trolls here on Steam (No block that stops them downloading entirely). I no longer consider Steam my primary upload location for my mods.

Future releases may or may not be uploaded here depending on how I made my mods, how big they are, how much trolling I see on steam prior to release and other things.

If you want all updates, or every new release I make, I recommend you check the Engineering guild Website first, rather than relying on Steam Workshop. The Steam Clients friends feature is getting news posted about my mods and I am using it. So feel free to add me as a friend if you want to recieve news that way.

Haves07: the path the library was changed by this mod to be more logical and provide a door to the lower levels, so yes it was intentional. You just use the other stairs now.

I love the mod and everything it adds to the college which makes it give you a huge array of options, much like real college, but i had a technical question. When i try to do the "Hitting the Books" quest there is rubble in front of the door that takes you to get the books. Is this intentional and if so what has to be done so i can continue to progress?

Lol.... Daedric chickens ROTFL... nice one Saeta :)

No problems whatsoever that I've seen and I like the new areas. Well done.
Summon Chicken, spoken of so casually by your druid trainer, was hilarious. I recognize it's attributed to Kyne, but since the summoning animation still has a "daedric" flare to it I sometimes entertain the thought that I'm stealing this "daedric chicken" from either Shegorath or Malacath. In either case, phenomenal mod.

Karma: I am just starting work on v2 of my Return to Helgen mod, adding the storm crown plot line to it. So it may be a while. All my mods are basically quest mods so if you like one, you will like the others. they always add a ton of extra stuff too.

JlPars: The DLC version will be released as a new mod mate. This one will remain available for everybody else. Also the only NPCs that do not speak are there for eye candy purposes. The ones that do stuff and matter all have lots of lines to speak. In fact 25% of my steam upload space is taken up with dialog for them.

Please put a nice, big DLC label on that note when its ready. I really like this mod but why don't the NPC's speak a little more. Dovah don't talk much so it's easy to work around it.

Dukoka: had the college tile set been better, i would have used it. Instead there is a long dungeon crawl I called the dark roads with triggered quest points that pop up as you explore. Which most folk like.

Hm okay i see your aspect. guess my problem i try to keep basic concept i think that would not bad but there are short quest line. I told it is nice you make mods for players and keep lore up. it didnt come in my mind there is resource cause of dwemer. But now i know. My opinion was it would be enough to give longer start to College but you did a more complex work so it is nice :)
