Rhetorical Discord Launched!
(Very) Short Gameplay Video
Description
Release date: TBD
"I'm often nit-picky, but even with my intimate familiarity of Portal I can see that nothing has been overlooked. Every tile on every panel has been revisited with loving detail. Not only have the visuals been updated to match Portal 2, but the weaker puzzle cues have been improved. I'm really looking forward to what they'll do with the Behind the Scenes areas." - Jeep Barnett, Valve

Portal: Alive & Kicking is a full remake and re-imagining of Valve's hit experimental title - Portal. Using the visual capabilities of Portal 2, A&K will shove you back into the cold test chambers of Aperture Science to retell the original story of Chell and GLaDOS. The best part? It's FREE.

Features
  • Advanced Map Pack: A remake of the Advanced Chambers from Portal, converted to the destroyed test chamber style seen in early segments of Portal 2.
  • Elite Map Pack: A brand new set of maps, based on Chambers 13-18 from Portal - but with all new puzzles and set in the "Old Aperture" visual theme seen in Portal 2.
  • New Soundtrack: New dynamic music similar to that in Portal 2, combining the ambient droning sound of Portal's music with Portal 2's energy.

Whew... Thanks God, and You!

@KelanianWesterndayser - Alive & Kicking was already Greenlit successfully and we already have an assigned appID. Greenlight shutting down will not impact us.

So-o-o-o... Greenlight is being shut down... Where we will be able to find this mod when it comes to release? On IndieDB? Or on the new 100$ paid-by-developer-of-the-game Steam Direct? Or maybe somewhere else?...

Any chance you could make a new teaser? I want to see what has changed!

@jonahtheninja - The Portal Gun model is the same as the one in Portal 2, but with new textures that were made by me. Additionally, the textures in the video above are out of date, and I've since made new textures.

HEY! That portal gun model looks like portal remake mods one! or, is portal remake mod stealing the model from this mod?!!

ok thx for the info. i thought those holes in the walls were bts, but from what i see now they're just background testchamber aesthetics.

@DatSuperMonkey - We haven't shown any BTS areas! Additionally, we're less concerned with canon and more concerned with making a solid campaign. That being said, our BTS areas are made to be a hybrid of the BTS styles seen in both Portal and Portal 2.

Just wanted to point something out - one thing i've noticed is that in the short glimpses of the the bts areas, you've kept the design of the bts in chapters 2-5. i mean like, the more futuristic, technical aperture science. but in chapter 1 in the overgrown areas, the bts areas look more like portal 1. with the rusty brown wall texture and the few pipes scattered around, which imo is what i think it should look like. sorry for the extremely critical observation but i just rly like when mods keep to the canon lol.

Fair enough, I get that. If you ever do a closed beta though, please consider allowing me to help :)
