"I'm often nit-picky, but even with my intimate familiarity of Portal I can see that nothing has been overlooked. Every tile on every panel has been revisited with loving detail. Not only have the visuals been updated to match Portal 2, but the weaker puzzle cues have been improved. I'm really looking forward to what they'll do with the Behind the Scenes areas." - Jeep Barnett, Valve

Portal: Alive & Kicking is a full remake and re-imagining of Valve's hit experimental title - Portal. Using the visual capabilities of Portal 2, A&K will shove you back into the cold test chambers of Aperture Science to retell the original story of Chell and GLaDOS. The best part? It's FREE.

  • Advanced Map Pack: A remake of the Advanced Chambers from Portal, converted to the destroyed test chamber style seen in early segments of Portal 2.
  • Elite Map Pack: A brand new set of maps, based on Chambers 13-18 from Portal - but with all new puzzles and set in the "Old Aperture" visual theme seen in Portal 2.
  • New Soundtrack: New dynamic music similar to that in Portal 2, combining the ambient droning sound of Portal's music with Portal 2's energy.

About the unstationary scaffolds and the new ones used in portal 2. I don't like the bulk of the ones from portal 2 nor do I like their overall look in the testchambers. This game is designed to remake portal 1 in portal 2's style. Well... I don't want the new platforms. Could you remodel the old design to match portal 2's style instead of switching the platform intirely?

Please? Again, this is a mod to make portal 1 with portal 2's standards, but not all the standards of portal 2 aren't good ones. So please try styling the scaffold instead of switching it, ok?

Also, I did infact read the FAQ about this mod not wanting community ideas. But I wanted to say this anyway.

@Luzaczke They've stated it multiple times that it will be free.

Colossal - Ah okay, sorry. I misunderstood what the word meant. Thanks for taking the time to respond. And keep up the good work! :)

@MisterLambda - "Unstationary" is intended to be the opposite of "stationary" - and the definition of stationary is "not moving or not inteded to be moved."

Since the platform still moves, regardless of what it moves on or with, it is still unstationary. Just like all of the moving platforms seen throughout both games and Alive & Kicking.
MisterLambda Aug 29 @ 5:30am
@Colossal - In Portal 1. The platform is suspended in a blue beam of light, thus not connected to any structure. Thus making it "Unstationary". But in Portal 2, they removed the "Unstationary" design and just made the platform connected to a Rail in the wall instead. Thus no longer making it Unstationary. You get what im saying?

@MisterLambda - I'm not sure I understand your question. The platform in Chamber 07 moves, just as it did in the first game. So the voice line is still correct?
