About the Game -
Guardian of Destruction is a fast paced top down survival shooter. Get as many points you can, but be careful not die because the only way you can set the highscore is by pressing the big red button and ending the game. The further away from the button you get the more points you can earn, but going further makes it harder to get back!

Key Features -
  • Classic dual stick controls.
  • Tense bullet hell action.
  • Get instantly back into the action.

What we're changing -
  • Complete graphical overhaul, the environment's getting a massive makeover.
  • Diegetic scoring system, the level will transform based on how well you're doing.
  • The longer you play the more the level crumbles and the higher your score the more the scoring area infects the rest of the world.
  • New musical score
  • Xbox Controller support!
  • More weapons, more pickups, more enemies, more more.

What we're planning -
  • Co-op mode
  • Boss fights
  • Online highscore

I'm gonna say no to this, only because I wasn't given enough to work with. I read that there are plans for improvement and that's great: the project needs it to survive. Certainly the idea of co-op, even competitive multiplayer is a sound plan. Boss fights would be good, even puzzle elements for lite thinking to break up the monotony of endless enemies wouldn't hurt. Different spaceship designs to unlock are another good plan. The title alone implies tongue in cheek: stick with that. Have a compaign mode that wreaks with self depricating, self aware humor. Best wishes with this project.

This isn't a game, this is just some student's first project or test level. Why is this even here? Robotron: 2084, now there was a game, and that's older than you are. Learn a bit more before you try again.

We are redoing nearly everything, There will still be helicopters, but only on one of the levels :P The idea is to get as much feedback as possible so our development is informed by the people who will eventually play it. So the more feedback you can give us, The better!

Is this the final overall art direction? Generic helicopters shooting generic missiles at a generic UFO don't help with the overall first impression either.

If you play the game you will see we have made it so you can only get a highscore by ending the game (pressing the button), The further away from the button you are the higher the points you can earn but it also increases the risk of you not being able to make it back.

In the final game you will be able to switch in the options menu :D
