Description
By the moonlight, on the hour,
In my threshold space lay me.
Watch the beam reflect my power,
Unite once more my sword with me.
I--am that is, stand true for all.
O Warrior Mouse, protect Redwall.

After making Ratdeath, the sword of Martin the Warrior from the Redwall book series, I realized it was missing something. It was all alone without Martin's shield, and while it took me a bit I've now rectified that little matter. :3

This mod adds, of course, the shield of Martin the Warrior, modeled after its appearance on the book's 10th anniversary cover. The shield is classified as light armor and, protection-wise, it's roughly halfway between an elven shield and a glass shield. The shield's fully temperable and also has a perk attached to it that reduces damage dealt by skeevers, so it's fully enchantable as well. The shield can be found in Lund's Hut, which is some ways from Rorikstead on top of a hill. You'll know you've found it when you run into a house with skeevers chillin' out in front of it. Give the house a thorough search once you get inside, shouldn't be hard to find the shield there ;)

With 1.1, now you can make a heavy version! To do so you will, of course, need to get the shield, then 3 steel ingots and the Steel Smithing perk, and drag 'em all to a forge to hefty up the shield. It's functionally identical to the standard version, but of course weighs a bit more and offers more defense (just a smidge more than an orcish shield). You can also revert the shield back to the light version by taking it to a smelter, in case you want to switch it back for whatever reason. BE ADVISED, doing this will strip off any tempering or enchanting you've done to the shield, so choose carefully.

It ain't complete without Ratdeath! G'won and give it a looksee here

There was armor at one point It was just distroyed in Martins fight with the wildcat Tsarmina
However the armor was not Martins to begin with it was given (I think) to him by Timballisto after the fight with Ripfang and the commandering of his ship Bloodwake.

The one part I didn't really like about the series is that this shield is really only even mentioned in Redwall; in all the others, they'll use the sword and completely ignore the fact that there should also be this awesome shield that Martin used. It makes sense in the ones that take place before the events of Redwall, but not those that come afterwards, when they should have the shield displayed in the Abbey with Ratdeath.

@White Rabbit, the book you're thinking of is The Taggerung, I think, and if so, he just uses Martin's sword (as do 90% of the Redwall series protagonists).

He probably came from a French family who at some point moved to Britain. That's my guess anyway. Either way, yeah, he was a great author. I'm not sure which book you're referring to, I'll have to poke around to see in what book that happens.

@ClinicalSanity Thanks very much. :3

Brian Jaques is awesome. Sorry if I just butchered that name. I only speak a little german, and my french is god aweful to say the least. Yes, I know he's british. His last name is french for some reason.

I thought he held a certain sword above his head (reflection off it was a help signal) as he was dying from wounds, which saved his life. Maybe that was a badger though.... It's been a while. All I know is the character was somewhere near the abbey as he did that.

Mr. DEvasto, it is with great pleasure that I inform you of the greatness you have just achieved. Lovely to see someone throw a mod out from those grand books.

It's possible your "invalid directory" issue is 'cause the textures aren't in the same place as defined in the texture set or the armor's mesh. As far as the Outcast of Redwall thing, the ferret Veil just had a knife, unless you're thinking of a different book in the series and mixed it up with Outcast.

@ creator- could you make whatever sword the otter had in redwall - "Outcast"?
