Savage Is An Indie Dev Grant Nominee
Description
An action/adventure/platformer with a non-linear open world to explore, procedurally generated encounters, robust item advancement system and more barbarian fetishism you can shake a stick at. Savage is equal parts inspired by the Conan stories by Robert E. Howard, my fascination with Zelda II (yes, yes, I know - the black sheep of the Zelda family), other games of its ilk (like Gargoyle's Quest) and a healthy dose of Hero Quest (the Milton Bradley board game).

@RUSTYWARCOW Thanks you so much for checking out the alpha! And yeah, lots that still need to be tightening up.

If you or any of you other amazing people feel so compelled, the game now has a PROPER Greenlight page here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=219085955

I'll be deleting this page, so everybody feel free to move over to the above link!

Found this via http://cactusquid.blogspot.com/2013/10/igf-2014-impressions.html lots to like here... love the openness and the metroid-esque upgrade system. Combat feels very raw, especially jump attacking -- I found enemies on top of narrow platforms harder to kill that I'd like -- but I'm sure you'll tighten that up over time.

Love the personality in the character especially animations.

Overall great start, hope it gets greenlight, I'll continue to follow it.

@KDStudios(Dan) - Sorry to hear about the problems you're having with the alpha, that's strange. But yes, I hope I can iron out issues like that, because if you are having issues like that, I'm sure others are too - Thank you so much for the heads up!

Odd... It barely uses 30% cpu but it's running at like 2fps.
Another oddity is that one of the svchost uses 30% cpu too.
Either way, the computer still isn't using that much CPU to run the game but still runs incredibly slowly.
Looks cool in the videos though.
Yes from me, hopefully you can fix the fps problem soon.
(Using AMD, not Nvidia or Intel)

@Captain Johvork Thanks for checking it out! I'm not sure yet what I'll charge for this thing - as I get closer to beta I'll have a better idea, but I'm thinking somewhere around five bucks or less.

@ DeBurgo Funny you mention Shadow of the Beast 2 - I was just watching some videos of it and the main character's sprites/animations definitely made me do a bit of, "huh, that's funny," because, half naked guy running around hitting stuff. But yes, definitely some Rygar thrown in there :) Thanks for checkin it out!
