Conjure Dragon

IMPORTANT NOTE: If Delphine tells you you need to kill paarthurnax and you haven't done so, you will need to steal the book from the chest. Otherwise it should be fine.

This mod lets you conjure a friendly dragon who will fight by your side for 15 minutes at a time. His name is Sindungahvonjun, or Unyielding King, a name that truly reflects his Essential nature and prowess in combat. He knows the Fire Breath shout, Frost Breath shout, and Marked for Death shout, along with the Fireball and Frostball (dragon only) shouts. However, I have not seen him use the last two during the time I tested his combat AI.

Sindungahvonjun is meant to be summoned and have the Bend Will shout used on him so you can ride/fight on dragonback whenever you want. I was very tired of summoning hostile dragons through the console, so I made this mod to fix that. However, just because he was created with that purpose in mind does not mean he can do nothing else. If you so choose, you can summon him outside to help slay your enemies, where he will act as a normal dragon and take out your enemies from the air and sometimes the ground. If the spell is not working, make sure that you have enough clear space to summon him, as he is a full-sized dragon and will require lots of room to move around.

You can find the spell tome to conjure him in the same chest you find the Blades Armor in Sky Haven Temple, or, if you are really impatient and want to summon a dragon NOW, Farengar will sell you ONE copy for 6000 septims. Or you could just use console commands. If you're using the console, type help "conjure dragon".

Tips and tricks on using this mod:

As stated before, make sure you have plenty of room to summon the dragon. Don't try summoning him inside a building, I have no idea what will happen, or if the spell will even work at all due to lack of space. Anyways, when you summon him, Sindungahvonjun will be facing AWAY from you and will take a few moments to turn around and face you. For best dragon-riding results, wait until he faces you, and then use the Bend Will shout on him. As far as I can tell, he is 100% compatible with rongphale's Command Dragon - Ultimate Dragon Riding mod (I downloaded said mod from the Nexus). He should work perfectly once in the air and respond to all attack/movement/land commands. If you summon him outside and do not ride him, but instead choose to use him as a dragon "follower", he will circle around your position looking for enemies and "follow" you while you travel on the ground. If you are using him in this way, he will NOT follow you inside a building, and assuming the timer has not expired, he will be flying around outside, waiting for you.

Known issues:

Sometimes, when riding Sindungahvonjun, he will land and become unresponsive to any and all commands except the dismount command before his alloted 15 minute time with you. The fix for this issue is to dismount him, let him fly away and wait until he's out of sight, and then summon him again. Another problem is that sometimes he will land and then disappear before his alotted time limit, and you will fall to the ground, but otherwise be unharmed. Or maybe that was just me losing track of time. Additionally, sometimes he likes to clip through the landscape while flying/fighting (but never when riding him). This does not affect his combat performance however. The last issue I remember is that when giving him a land command, he will sometimes take forever to find a spot to land, particularly around Winterhold/the College of Winterhold and consequently take you far away from your intended destination before landing. There is nothing you can do at that point except wait for him to land and hope he didn't take you too far away from the College.

Yes. On the Skyrim Nexus, search "Command Dragon" by rongphale. It does exactly what you're looking for.

Yes, thats the mod I'm currently using! It's fantastic, I've rarley had problems with it.

I would recommend getting a hold of Rongphale's Command Dragon mod that allows realtime fast traveling on dragonback. You open up the map, click on a location as if you were going to fast travel there, and then sit back and watch as your dragon flies you around Skyrim. Or you could manually control the dragon, but I've never gotten it to work for me.

Indeed. For someone using a fast-travel disabler having a dragon to taxi you around is a life-saver.

Kinda, but at least you get to summon a dragon whenever you want now.
