Give away contest!!!!
Beyond eyes tells the story of Rae, a girl who lost her eyesight in an fireworks accident when she was just a toddler. The event left her emotionally scarred to the point that she no longer dares to leave the house by herself. Instead she spends her time tending her precious garden and playing with a fat cat she named Nani.

When Nani goes missing Rae gathers all her courage and decides to leave the safety of home in search for the cat. Although frightened at first she starts to explore and experience the world around, revealing their purpose and form by touching, smelling and listening to them.

As you guide Rae through this unfamiliar world your behavior as player influences the way she feels and behaves. A player who forces her into dangerous situations finds himself with a scared, distrustful girl who will refuse to do his bidding until he regains her trust. Of course if a player respects Rae's wishes and is careful to keep her from harm, she will open up to him and will trust him in difficult situations.

I like the idea and the look of it. There are too many games out there these days bent of violence and horror. I like the look of innocence on this game. (It's also uncanny that I had a similar idea for a game like this last year, based on the short film Out of Sight; look it up on YouTube.)

Great, unique concept. Love your minimalist artwork as it really sets the mood and kind of gives me an idea of how Rae might "see" the world. The whole idea behind your game is very interesting as an explore type game. Definitely following, can't wait to see where you and Rae goes!

I absolutely understand, it's something I would love to see, but I expected you to be stretched close to your limit as is. Best of luck with the project.

@RanisAthrys I would love to include a memory mode and have experimented with it in the past but I can't get it right yet. It has something to do with the way the code is set up. Since I'm making this game by myself it ended on my list of things I would love to incorporate when I have the chance!

This looks beautiful, but I would love a vanishing / memory mode. Just as things appear to you as you get close to them, they could disappear after you've departed their vicinity. Some things might last longer than others, like roads, but even their location will be forgotten if you stray too far for too long. You could even throw in some RPG perameters: sensitivity (improves the speed at which objects become apparent to you), self-consciousness (slightly increases the range of your perceptions), memory (how long objects last after departing them) etc. in order to tailor and modify the experience.

This seems inspired by the student short film 'Out of Sight' ( ). Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it is, why is there no reference to it anywhere?
