Alteil Horizons is a turn-based tactics game that is card-based. It has the involved deck-building of Magic: the Gathering and plays like Final Fantasy Tactics plus Scrolls.

We are a group of game industry pros who used to work on the first Alteil. We fell in love with the game, but we wanted the freedom to bring out its full potential.

When Alteil 1 was slated to be shut off, we decided to take a chance. We got the game's license and set off on our own. Now, we’re making a sequel to take what’s great about the first game, re-imagine it as a fully-featured shiny new online game, and give it the wide release it deserves. That’s Alteil Horizons.

  • Cards w/ tactical RPG-style stats, including current HP, MAX HP, attack, defense, agility, range and move
  • Grid combat is range-based, NOT lane-based - only distance matters
  • Each unit has it's own Action Menu - you're in control.
  • "Trap card"-like special abilities
  • Recover resources from dead units - resource "flow" from the grid and back.
  • Learn in single-player quest mode
  • ELO rankings
  • Duel replays and spectator system
  • Core tournament-legal set ensures tight balance at all times.
  • Gameplay refined over ten years. First game live since 2005.
  • Over 1,000 Cards at launch
  • Zombie Mermaids!

• Range Mechanics

Left-right orientation doesn't matter, only distance matters. The more range, the more occupied rows your archers can shoot over.

• Soul Cards

Soul Cards Give you Soul Skills and Life Points. The more Life, the weaker the special skills.

• Day Night Cycle

Lycanthropes get bonuses at night. There are also Daycanthropes that get bonuses in the morning...

That's great news! Could you provide a link to the game when its out? Will it be released as a standalone on steam later today?
fodder  [author] Aug 20, 2014 @ 9:12am
@Dablim: Everything you are seeing is pure HTML and rendered on Chrome, but there will be native applications for all respective platforms.

@Avagantamos: The standalone will be in open beta in a few hours, and it's on us to make a steam version of the game as well, which we'll most likely be focusing on very shortly.

Note that in any case there will be a few weeks until there is a reasonable number of single player RPG-style campaigns to play through, though multiplayer is playable now and very fun :).

This is a Flash game or will be native on the respective platforms?
