Description
Sjel Blad Castle - "Soul Blade" Castle in Norwegian, is an expansive player home mod with numerous character perks including an armory, forge, barracks, sanctuary, living quarters, vault, trophy hall, stables, guards, humanoid/creature companions, and much more!

This is my first Skyrim mod and I would love/appreciate feedback and comments. My desire is to create an optimal experience for the player and I cannot do so without the thoughts and ideas of the gaming community.

I am a very passionate gamer and modder with a Bachelor's Degree in Video Game Art and Design. My hope is that one day I will be doing this as a career.

I do not personally translate my mods to another language. All translations are done by fans of the mod into their native language. If you wish to translate this mod I will gladly upload the file and give you credit for the translation.



  • Updated version of Skyrim
  • Dawnguard DLC
  • Dragonborn DLC

The requirements are non-negotiable and Skyrim will crash if you do not possess the required software. It is not possible for me to create a non-DLC version of this mod, as the majority of castle (exterior and interior) was fashioned from Dawnguard and Dragonborn assets.




Sjel Blad Castle is located due south of the Throat of the World and east of Helgen along the road. If the castle does not appear on the map or in the actual game world, make sure the mod is selected in your Skyrim mod list; which is accessed under "Data Files" from the Skyrim splash screen.



  • In-house teleportation system - Travel to any area of the player home with ease

  • Item Auto-Sorting - Place your items in the Void Storage and auto-sort them to their respective chests/containers throughout the castle with one click

  • Auto-Storage/Retrieval - Store/remove all items from a chest or container with one click, or by preset amounts (1, 5, and 10)

  • Void Storage - A cloud storage system with receptacle points in every major room of the castle, along with a purchasable spell that conjures a portal in the game world allowing the player to access the Void Storage from anywhere. Say goodbye to over-encumbrance!

  • Customization Chamber - Allows the player to turn "on" or "off" certain options and/or features around the castle including Faction Banners, Faction-based Guards, Bed/Coffin, Bed/Drapery Color, Barrack Companions, Ceilings/Roofs, Windows/Skylights, Throne options, Doors, certain NPCs, Special Effects (to help with PC performance), and more!

  • Castle Servants - Trade-skill workers to do your bidding including an Alchemist, Angler, Armorsmith, Artificer, Bowyer, Brewer/Winemaker, Chef, Daywalker, Farmer, Fletcher, Forager, Hunter, Jewelcrafter, Metalsmith, Miner, Scribe, Staffcrafter, Tailor, and Trapper

  • Hall of Ascension - Allows the player to upgrade their character's base stats (Health/Magicka/Stamina), Crafting Skills, Damage/Skill Modifiers, and Physical Appearance/Sex/Race

  • Trophaeum (Trophy Room) - Allows the player to assemble Creature and Dragonslaying based trophies. Once assembled, Dragonslayer Trophies allow the player to summon the soul of a defeated dragon in combat. Also, the player can earn Kill Trophies which will grant access to features in the Hall of Ascension

  • Forge - Anvil, Smelter, Sharpening Wheel, Workbench, Tanning Rack, Mine, customized storage, two trade-based vendors, and optional Spider Imbuing Chamber. Also, the new Metalsmith servant gives the player access to Item Smelting, which allows the player to breakdown weapons and armor to their base raw metal and turn them into ingots....or Ore Transmutation which allows the player to convert metal ores into other ores

  • Sanctuary - Alchemy, Enchanting, and Staff Enchanting work areas complete with customized storage, as well as numerous bookshelves (holding over 400+ books / 2500+ with the optional second floor), two trade-based vendors (Alchemy/Enchanting), and an optional Atronach Forge

  • Barracks - 20+ Companions/Followers based on the Oblivion Character Classes. Archery Range, and Sparring Pit

  • Sparring Pit (Barracks) - Allows the player to test their skills against a variety of opponents in a free-for-all environment while earning rewards

  • Armory - 80+ Mannequins and 500+ Weapon Plaques/Displays

  • Sanctum of War - Personal storage for weapons and armor

  • Vault - Dragon Priest Mask, Black Book, and Aedric/Daedric Artifact displays. Also includes the Dynamic Treasure Hoard feature which changes the appearance of the 3 main treasure pits based on the amount of gold deposited and grants rewards if a certain amount of wealth is accumulated

  • Living Quarters - Sleeping area, clothing storage, and balcony

  • Lair - 100+ Creature Companions/Followers

  • Stables - 30+ purchasable Creature Mounts. Conjure Mount spell available to instantly summon your mount to your side

  • Waygates - Allows the player to travel to any major city including Raven Rock, Fort Dawnguard, and Volkihar Castle

  • Kitchen - Cooking Pots, food and drink-based custom storage, and trade-based vendor

  • Exterior Towers - Beautiful views on the Skyrim landscape




  • Hallowed Grove - (general area released in v1.3)
    • Crypts & Catacombs - Dungeons with varying difficulties







It is recommended to back up all Skyrim save files before installing any game mod, so please do so. Once a mod is installed and running it is highly advised to never save your game while inside or around player-created content, as this can lead to game content caching. Basically, the game remembers bits and pieces of a mod’s content in your saved game which can possibly cause problems in the future if that same content is changed or updated in any way. Saving your game in the outside game world helps prevent this from happening.

May I also make another suggestion? Can you put some labeling on the trophy skull walls? Just something so we can know which wall represents what.

Side question related to this, how does the script for that work? Right now it kinda looks like you run into an alcove and it has walls for x,y,z and then it checks for updates on those three creatures. It seems kind of hit or miss for a specific wall triggering though, so what about adding a button to check for kill updates? Or maybe even an option with one of the NPCs in the trophy room that just runs them all as a batch?

Can I make a suggestion for the treasure pit in the vault? I like the idea of the rewards for reaching different tiers, but I would actually like to see a different option that just spawns in the goblets and urns and stuff without the ingots or the rings/necklaces. I think that just leaving the statues and the goblets and stuff actually add a really neat effect and help make the treasure pit really look like a treasure pit and not just a pile of gold.

I guess a side question is are you cutting out the generation of the rings and necklaces after a certain tier so that they dont get lost in the pile? Because if so after a couple of tiers that would amount to dozens of extra entities that are lost in the pile and just causing performance loss.

Heyy good mod!Is there a way to auto loot those thingies you get from your servants..Everything is lying around on the floor and get bugged sometimes and cant loot them or I need to jumb and press E so annoying.Anyway great mod I hope you keep the work though!
