Shaman is a first-person, real-time strategic spell casting game set in a fictional ancient China where players assume the role of a 19-year-old female spirit-ronan who is tasked with restoring a local mountain community demolished by sickness and ruled by shadow. Your goal is to use your knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and elemental magic to defeat these shadows and restore balance to the land.

Lots of petential (art and story are gorgeous) but I didn't see the gameplay being immersive or engaging. Seems overly complex. I recommend tightening up the pitch and adding a compeling gameplay video. Love David's concept art. Have an up vote, I want to see this win.

Sounds like you are striving to keep it from becoming 1 demionsal or repetative. It also sounds like that 3-5 hours of game play per episodic is only base (meaning it goes towards unique content. As apposed to additional hours in, through the replayability factor. Which seems to be in the experimentation with spells, towards the ends of mastery, over just say beating the objective outright).

I like the sound of it. And, you come off as having a firm grasp on what your aiming for and how you intend to pull it off. Your prompt, reasonable, and elaborative responces to my questions have earned you my upvote (and hopefully that of others reading as well).

Q. Perhaps you should consider padding the schedule?

A: It is to be expected when making games, that delays are inevitable. We ran an unsuccessful Kickstarter and thus had to cut our team back from 4 down to 2. We have been crushing it just to be two weeks behind. But not to worry, the game won't release until it provides the experience we intend. Though that said, we will likey provide an early access option of some kind for those who are interested.

Q: I suppose we can expect that each installment will have about 6 battles with progressively more powerfull shaman?

A: There were are 18 Shaman, but you will not meet all 18 in combat. 2 have been defeated before the time of the game starts. Some will play other roles as well. Also, some of the combat will be with villagers that are under the control of the Shaman. As far as the number of battles per episode, it will likey be somewhere between 8-12, each with a different task and each increasing in difficulty. We are shooting for around 3-5 hours of gameplay per episode, but we will be able to better judge that once we start the beta testing.
