I liked the idea of catapulting the cubes to take out the turretts! It's funner than haveing to rush them and it makes the last turret not so annoyingly placed.
I do agree that you could go down to two cubes if the acuacy of the faith plates was adjusted. I did end up using all four to kill them, then brought all the cubes to the door (I just had to use the companion cube for the last button though).

Last turret is annoyingly placed. Too many cubes. Why use the aerial faith plate when you got this thing called a portal gun?

Not bad, I can certainly see what the player is supposed to do, however, none of the cubes are strictly necessary nor is anything to do with the portal jump you've set up. All the player has to do is knock over the various turrets in the room, find the ball and place a portal on the white floor nearest to it which can be done from the exit door area, everything else is optional. You might want to change the laser grid area so that this can't be exploited.
