Static Mesh Improvement Mod
6 items
Description
SMIM is a massive project to greatly improve the appearance of countless static (mostly) 3D models in Skyrim.

IMPORTANT: Since Steam Workshop limits mods to 100mb, SMIM is now broken into SIX parts. Each part is INDEPENDENT meaning you don't need to use all parts. However, if you want all of SMIM's awesome work, subscribe to all parts!

View and subscribe to Part 1, Part 2, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6.

NOTE: SMIM works perfectly with all Official DLCs including the free High-Res DLC but no DLCs are required!

SMIM is a massive project to greatly improve the appearance of countless static 3D models in Skyrim. Basically, this is my attempt to make Skyrim's architecture, clutter, furniture, food, landscaping, and other things much nicer.

If you want to customize the textures and options, download the Skyrim Nexus version. Skyrim Nexus features a very convenient Nexus Mod Manager to help you install mods.

Warning: this mod increases polygon counts and texture sizes. A i5/i7 quad-core and GeForce 460+ is recommended.

Tip: this mod is compatible with all texture replacers, but due to how Steam Workshop works, it is advisable to use the Skyrim Nexus version for more control over which mods take precedence. Or don't worry about this and just subscribe!

Note: the Skyrim Nexus version is updated more frequently because I prefer to upload only major and tested releases to Steam Workshop in order to ensure a better user experience. :)

Now I can play Skyrim :) Epic improvement is epic. But I wonder why you never grouped your mods.Like one for dungeons, one for the edgy rocks etc...

Does anyone else have the pillars at war-maidens show up with black hexagonal holes?

I'm glad you spent all this time where the actual developers couldn't, it really makes a difference

@Halolink109: a long, long, long time! The big mesh changes can take 8-12 hours a piece...and SMIM has hundreds of big mesh changes.

Man these are really good mods, I must ask, how long in all did it take you to make all of these changes?

@idighole27: error code 16 usually means Steam Workshop has broken. Try again later. Let me know if the problem persists...
