GLSPACE is an ongoing project to create a space simulation / space trading and combat game along the line of David Braben's Frontier / Frontier: First Encounters and Martin Schweiger's Orbiter. It aims to be as realistic as possible while still maintaining attractive gameplay. The goal is to create a whole procedural galaxy containing realistic star systems down to the surface of planets and moons. Ultimately, it is planned to be extendable and scriptable, probably using script languages like Python or LUA. There will be space trading and space combat aspects in it, with the possibility of buying new ships, weapons and upgrades.

There is already a working basic spaceflight engine developed with Linux and OpenGL.

Another neat concept can be that you can go to planets, start a colony, and begin new life on those planets.

I am currently reworking the spacecraft models and their rendering and i am preparing a first test-version. Then you can see for yourselves. :)

Hehe, well, "don't promise if you can't deliver", but as we are talking concepts here, sure, multiplayer would be the ultimate goal of this. :)

Maybe not as large as EVE - i'm thinking more about enabling players to host single star systems on dedicated servers that other players can visit, build bases there etc. Like a P2P-network hosting the galaxy. Well, far fetched right now, but the technology is there.

But a working single player game should come before all that. :)

So kinda live EVE? Any hopes to make it multiplayer? We need more space games, I really like the idea for this. I'd totally buy it.
10/10, Keep up the word!
