Char released - Big feature - random map generation
Release - Char
An old-school rogue-like where ascii characters rule the realm and interact with beautiful particle effects!

Key differentiators between this and other Rogue-like's:
. Particle effects! Fireballs aren't just * moving around!
. Monster's have interesting behavior. Some are pack animals and will flee if there aren't enough around. Mini-bosses will react intelligently to player behavior.
. Designed to be a short game. Estimated time (assuming you win) is 2 hours per game.
. Maps are pre-generated, but the selection of which maps are in play is random.
. A high difficulty level. There is no natural healing in the game, and there is no instant healing.

Great! Let me know how it plays - there is a FPS counter on it - and honestly, it should play at 60 fps on everything. I've been shifting the camera around a bit to try and make it the most playable by default.

Been awhile but i am back any new versions ready to test?

Blackdeath - I just pushed a new version to the Dropbox location. Much more is playable - and more importantly, the nasty perf degradation during movement is gone.

There - still plenty of places in town you can get stuck (though try pressing with 2 fingers - that is the equivalent of Esc being pressed). Monster visibilty should be correct now - and lots of maze not rendering bugs are squashed.

Oh goodness - if you're actually trying it, I'll post a new build in an hour that actually has most of the core gameplay enabled. The last build still didn't have a lot working.

interesting concept, i put it on my LG g pad (great tablet by the way). Was able to move around enter the library, home etc. But found something i ended up stuck in the menu items and could not exit easily seems the touch was off centered. I will continue playing with it as i love playing games like these.
