Update:
Bugfix for Summoning/Magic Absorption bug, thanks to Nanayo over at Skyrim Nexus for the info!

Drawing upon the powers of both Conjuration and Destruction magics, draw pure water from the Elemental Plains and freeze it into a solid wall to block and distract your foes. Buy valuable time to dispatch a foe before the rest of the horde can break through!

THIS IS CONSIDERED BETA. I have tested it pretty thoroughly, but BACK UP YOUR SAVE GAMES ANYWAY!

Find the spell tome on Farengar's desk in Dragonreach.

Details
=======
This spell creates a massive wall of ice at the target location. The wall will appear at right angles to the casting direction and will not allow anyone to cross its location. If cast in an open area, your foes will be delayed while they are forced to walk around it. If cast in an enclosed space, your foes will have to break it down to reach you. If you cast it near a stairway or other slope it is possible to jump on top of the wall and run across it.

The wall's Health is 1/4 of your Magicka without Frost Augmentation, or 1/2 of your Magicka with it.

The wall deals slow frost damage to attackers. It is immune to ice attacks but takes extra damage from fire (like a Frost Atronach).

Frost Augmentation increases the number of wall segments (width of the wall) from 6 to 8 at level 1, or from 8 to 10 at level 2. It also increases the wall height.
Elemental Potency affects the duration of the wall, making it last a maximum of 60 seconds instead of 30. It also extends the period of time that the wall is invulnerable to attack.
The Summoner perks correctly affects the maximum casting distance.

Incompatibility
===============
As far as I can tell this shouldn't conflict with anything at all.

Technical
=========
This spell is fairly complicated and required a lot of testing. It uses a Summoned invisible actor to place several ice-pillar statics at the target location. Additional actors are placed to aid the enemy AI in pathing around the wall. These actors have several events tied to them to prevent the statics from getting stuck on the map.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
Enemies sometimes get stuck behind the wall without attempting to path around it. I have taken GREAT pains to keep this from happening (seriously, you have NO idea) but the bottom line is that this mod just does stuff Bethesda didn't design Skyrim to do. There's no way to update a navmesh at runtime, period. The enemy SHOULD start trying to break the wall down (once it becomes vulnerable) if they can't get around it, though.

Repeatedly casting Summon Ice Wall, particularly before the first one has finished its appearance animation, may result in the new Ice Wall missing segments and/or the old one lingering a little longer than usual.

There should not be ANY way for you to get the wall statics stuck for much longer than their duration. If this happens you'll have to use the console to select and disable the icewall statics one by one. Although this was a problem early in development I have placed MANY safeguards against this. It has not happened in my testing.

Stuck Icewall(!)
============
If an icewall does NOT disappear after 60 seconds, try the following:
* Hit T and Wait at least one hour of in-game time. The wall should vanish a few seconds later.
* Leave the map you are on and come back. If you are outside, enter a town and return.

If neither of these does the trick, press ~ to bring up the console, click the icewall with the mouse, type disable in the console and press enter. This will remove the wall from your map but it may still add to your savegame size.

This is very nice! I belive that Skyrim should have more spells like this that actually make magic more 'realistic' not just:Cast-kill-next now:cast-kill-ICEWALL.Thanks this is cool.

very nice! These are the kinds of spells we need to improve skyrim magic. Anamations a little weak; but that can definitly be overlooked for this great mod. Subbing.
