Introduction

Hello, im Osirin creator of this guide. The basic idea is to collect Mercenary Kings data to one big nice package which everyone is free to contribute. I will test out the contributions when i have free time.

Version history

  • 1.0 Updated few enemies name to reflect what they have ingame.
  • 1.1 Changed guide layout to more appealing form.
  • 1.2 Started adding enemy images, animals done !
  • 1.3 Most enemy hp / images are done.
  • 1.4 Added achievements section + Kickstart Contributor achievement.
  • 1.5 Updated Enemy info and text layout. Also some minor typo fixes.
  • 1.6 Small update on Game Mechanics section involving weight and movement.
  • 1.7 Mission guarenteed material rewards added, started adding elemental weaknesses & resistance of enemies.
  • 1.8 Added weapon modification section Assault Rifles/Handguns/Machine Guns/Magnums/Snipers/Shotguns/Sub-Machine Guns parts and images to boot.
  • 1.9 Updated most material maps with full view of the map.

- It was stated before you purchased the game it's Early Access Game.
What the developers say:
“It’s an earlier, not completed version of the game. It currently has 60 missions whereas the completed version of the game will have over 100! This version of the game still needs your feedback to get it in the best possible shape and it’s why we are releasing it now!”

Game Mechanics

1. Weight limits and movement
  • Very Fast = 2.0 kg or less
  • Fast = 2.1 kg to 5.0 kg
  • Normal = 5.1 kg to 8.0 kg
  • Slow = 8.1 kg to 11.0 kg
  • Very Slow = 11.1 kg or more
2. Reloading mini-game
  • When player has used even 1 bullet, they can reload weapon. A bar above players head appear with Grey/Green/Yellow areas.
  • Player must time reload on right moment to get special penalty/benefits following :


Grey area
  • -> Bar flashes red and player gets increased reload cooldown penalty.
Yellow area
  • -> Clip is reloaded instantly.
Green area

  • -> Clip is reloaded instantly and bullets deal more neutral damage (around +10% more). Bullets on the clip which were reloaded will start flashing to indicate which bullets got the bonus dmg.

  • If player doesn't participate in the reload minigame the gun reloads eventually automatically.

3. Elemental damage
  • Enemy weak to specific element can take +20/80/100% increased elemental damage.
  • Enemy strong to specific element can take -20% decreased elemental damage.
  • Bosses weak to specific element can take +10% increased elemental damage.
  • Bosses strong to specific element can take -20/50% decreased elemental damage.
  • Elemental modifiers stack ( Receiver / ammunation / bionic mod / profiency )

4. Tricks
  • Player can deflect incoming bullets with knife if used accurately.
  • Player can drop down certain platforms by lightly pressing jump with rapid succession. Tested on following : Falling Platform / Steel Bar
  • When transceiver is used to call Bobby for medical drop crate, the crate itself can be used as stepping stone for those hard to reach places.
  • Roll can negate weight limit and thus let player move faster, also hard landing can be avoided by rolling.
  • Fast material gathering from mission can be done following :
    • Enter Sub Menu
      • Enter Mission Info
        • -> Press (Space)
          "Revert Items ?" text appear
          • -> Choose "No"
            A "Warning!" text appear
            • -> Choose "Yes"
Now player should retain collected materials / items from the mission. This however will also remove used / dropped items player brought to the mission.


Ammunition Types

If ammunition contains following text on it and has 100% compatible with the gun they can be equipped.

Contains text -> Ammunition Type

Point -> Universal ammo which fits every weapon and thus won't need to have 100% compability.
Shot -> Needs 100% on Lead Shot
Ball -> Needs 100% on Bounce type
AP -> Needs 100% on Pierce
Magnum -> Needs 100% on Large
Sharpnel -> Needs 100% on Fragment
Missile -> Needs 100% on Homing

Example :

To equip Missile ammunition to weapon you need to have 100% on Homing ammunition type.

Bugs :

Even having 100% on Fragment one cannot equip Sharpnel ammunition to weapon.

Hey I just noticed, what do you mean by that list of materials "not found in game"? Because if you mean that they are basically "listed yet unobtainable", you'd be wrong.

I can't seem to find anything for gun catalysts or semi-rare materials like lithium or nitrogen. Could we pretty please get an update, I'd even be happy to help out.

Unless I missed something, someone needs to do another update of this, since the newer versions have a lot more missions and enemies to cover.

Also, I feel like some criticism is needed.

The boss patterns are vaguely explained, like how it's not mentioned that the steel soldier variants might jump backwards or forwards, and that the Rover drives straight into the side it's facing once it's lowered back down to the ground.
