GTR 2 Greyed cars FIX
By HördSS
The one guide to fix the greyed cars in the game!.

just follow these easy steps and you will be done

Everything on this guide will be found over on nogrip so i suggest making an account there while you are at it.
(Please rate this if it helps you! So other people will find this to
Part 1: The Problem
Everyone that have bought the game here on steam will have a problem with the following cars
1. Porsche.
2. Ferrari.
3. Lamborghini ( This can happen during online racing )
The reason this is happening is because of the Licence i dont know if SIMBIM is working on a fix for this, And at this point i am doubting it. So just use this guide to fix that :D

Part 2: Files that are required
There is currently somethings you will need for this. You will also need to have Winrar or 7zip installed since the files comes in .rar files!
You will need these 2 files
1. ( NO CD )
2. (EU patch) For those in Europe
3. (US patch) For those in North America
If you are in the US you should use the US patch! but since i live in sweden i'm using the EU patch! if the US patch does not work then use the EU patch! this can make the online screw up (if you are unlucky) but i dont think that will happen sinse it works 100% for me!
Part 3: Installing and being done
Open the file that have the patch file inside of it.
Now start the file.
Now it will come up as an installer so you will need to locate your GAME FOLDER!
it should be something like
(C:) > Program/Program files > Steam > SteamApps > Common > GTR 2- FIA GT Racing Game
When you are done with installing the patch you will need to place the GTR2.exe file that you downloaded from the site! inside the game folder.

Be aware! Do not overwrite the old GTR2.exe file that are inside the game folder already! If you do this it might cause issues for you in the future. So just copy the old gtr2.exe file and place it somewhere safe. THEN replace the GTR2.exe file that are still in the game folder with the new one.
And now you are done, You can start the game trough steam or do a shortcut of the new .exe file and place it on your desktop.

No. No CD patch should not get you vac banned from steam :) The only problem it can cause is that certain servers for mutliplayer wont work. Other then that its safe.

A search for info on the file type .rar told me it was a zip file or compressed file, I found 7-zip on my system so I tried using that and fortunately managed to fill in the blanks between where I was at, and your instructions.
I'm very new to this game, i've been a 'TOCA 2' BTCC nut up to now, and my laptop can't handle very new games, so I'm really getting into GTR2. I'm about to look into going about downloading/installing the MoTec system. :steamhappy:

Ooooh right you have to use winrar or 7zip to be able to open the files. That i should include! thanks for that :)

I was expecting the downloads to offer the usual run/install options upon download, but they didn't, and afterwards my system didn't recognise an .rar file, when I tried to open it, don't know why. I had to use an 'unzipping' program to unzip and copy into the .exe file (after first copying the original and keeping it safe). With so many positive comments, I was unsure why I was finding it so difficult, but I found a way and I'm thankful for your original post.
