When browsing through the Moonbase Alpha files I found out that the swear word filter is handled client-side, which means you can remove it. (However people who do not make this modification will not see the filtered words) It turns out it is a simple file edit, and can be done in a few minutes. I hope you will find this guide helpful.
Part 1 - Finding your Moon Base Alpha files
Moon Base Alpha is in the common folder of your steamapps folder. It should be something like this: C:\(Steam Directory)\steamapps\common\Moon Base Alpha. (For me it is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Moon Base Alpha) You will then need to find the folder titled "MoonBaseAlphaGame", and inside that you will need to find the folder titled "Config". (The location should be like this: C:\(Steam Directory)\steamapps\common\Moon Base Alpha\MoonBaseAlphaGame\Config) You should see a bunch of .ini files, if you do you are in the correct folder.
Part 2 - Editing the ini file
You will want to find the files "MoonBaseAlphaLanguageFilter.ini" and "DefaultLanguageFilter.ini", these are the file you'll want to edit. (I'd suggest making a copy of the files just in case) Open them up in your desired text editor. You will find lines with something such as "FilterWords=taint" (yes, they filtered taint) you will want to remove the "bad" words so all of those lines will say "FilterWords=". (Make sure to only edit those lines) Save your changes and launch the game, the filter should now be disabled.
Other uses for the filter
Some of you may know the glitch where you can screw up text to speech by spamming "PST EST CST MST". You could use the filter to block "PST", "CST", and "MST" to prevent this. (Don't block "EST", it will block parts of other words) Also if you find something that people spam to be annoying you can block that too.
If you notice any problems with this modification (I haven't noticed, as I have used the bypass), or have anything I can improve on, please post it in the comments.
