Description
Restores missing specular data to Hi-Res Texture Pack version of the Daedric Shield.

The hi-res texture pack omits specular information usually stored in the alpha channel of the game's normal maps for the Daedric Shield. This results in the shield having a vaguely overall chrome-like effect that's inconsistent with other craftable Daedric items, as well as with its own low-res version. I've addressed this error with a basic texture patch, which simply adds in the missing data.

I've also taken the liberty of painting the runes on the Daedric Shield a dark red. I've always felt a touch of red was a visual element common to Daedric items that was conspicuously missing from the shield, and I think this treatment is sufficiently understated that it doesn't alter the tone of the original art.

This is my favourite item that I've found so far in the game, Inigo looks so bad-ass with it!

The Unofficial High-Res Patch makes this one not needed, but I still use it anyway for the red runes you painted on. Nice job :)

Which was why I said "oddly, this one". I know there's no reason it should have caused it to be doing that. The only thing I could come up with, which also doesn't make sense, is maybe I have another mod that alters daedric armor (I was wearing a full suit including the shield, which was the only reason I tried turning it off), and it appears to be different from what I remember. I don't have any mods that specifically retexture daedric, though, so I don't know where it could be coming from. :-\ I really do like the look of your shield. I don't think it is, in reality, your mod that's at fault. I once had a bunch of player houses installed, but when Bethesda pushed their patch to prepare for Hearthfire, every single one of them was causing CTDs when I loaded the game. It's possible what I'm seeing is actually caused by a combination of things.

On the surface, that doesn't make much sense. The only thing in here are a couple of .dds files.

I reloaded my game after installing several mods over a few months' period of otherwise inactivity, and was getting a very strange effect where my screen would pop to black, then fade back in, and I could not get out of the sneak position, though the game didn't think I was sneaking and would not let me begin to sneak for actually hiding from enemies. After turning all sorts of mods on and off, I finally traced it down to, oddly, this one. I'm not sure why it caused a problem, but without it, and only it, running, I have no problems. Uninstalling, though I would've liked to have seen this.

It does not conflict with Dawnguard.
