Malebolgia is an atmospheric horror action/adventure, set in a 19th century demonic fortress. The game is inspired by modern and classic horror games (from Western and Eastern developers alike), Gothic literature and most of all Dante Alighieri's Inferno.

Explore the dark world of the Afterlife: As a fallen General and commander of the battlefield, you make your way throughthe Devil's fortress "Malebolgia", in the middle of the ice lake Cocytus. This fortress is designed in such a manner as to incentivize exploration, and if you're up for it, non-linearity.

Fend off dreadful foes and monsters: Many enemies make their appearance within the fortress. They each require a different approach, but all are deadly in their own way. It's up to you to find out how to survive. You have several weapons and skills at your disposal to dispatch the many demons and boss monsters.

Defeat the Beast that holds you captive: A grand monster is lord and master of the Afterlife. It will chase and hunt you down throughout the game. Only you can defeat it and finish your quest, but it's not going to be easy. Be mindful not to alert it to your presence, as it prowls about.

Rest and pick up your strengths: There is room for catharsis and relaxation from time to time, as you reach safe havens within the fortress. Here you can take a breather, listen to Classical music and read from the Inferno.

Discover the true nature of your quest: The old General only knows his one goal - to defeat the Beast. Why and how he finds himself inside the fortress is a mystery. Experience the tragic history of Malebolgia as you venture from the darkness into the light.

Malebolgia is being developed in Unity, with a PC release planned Summer 2014. Release on other platforms (Mac, Linux, to even consoles) is being looked at.

Are you sure "Malebolgia" is not trademarked by whomever owns the rights to Spawn?

"A more classical cold wasteland and desperate solitude." that's it. I think this is something that really catches our mind. An over-heat hell may be applied to hot action game, not to this one. Another thing I'm into this the buildings in Hell. I always wonder, who build these gigantic, somber, unholy architectures? Demons or enslaved souls?

The screenshots are not loading? That's strange. Have you tried both the Steam client and the Steam store website? Anyway, thanks for the interest. This depiction of Hell is a bit more inspired by (late-)Medieval literature, with its nobility ranks for the Dukes and Princes of Hell. Expect less fire and brimstone, but a more classical cold wasteland and desperate solitude.

BTW, this is my first time make comment on a Greenlight game. However, strangely I can't browse any screenshots above, the click of the screenshots doesn't work. Who can tell me why?

Yes, this storyline seems fascinating, which caters to my taste. I always expect a true description of Hell under the pen of game developers.
