Description
Expand your ranged arsenal from just spells and arrows to bring Death From Afar! Throw Axes, Knives, Shurikens, Javelins, Potions, Grenades, Torches and more

This mod adds a whole new style of combat to Skyrim, Throwing Weapons. Like many I was disappointed when throwing weapons did not make it across from Fallout: New Vegas so I have taken matters into my own hands.

The throwing weapons can complement most play styles, here are a selection of them:

For the assassins there are throwing knives; where speed is crucial for quick take downs and sneak bonuses offset the lower damage of the knives.
For the warriors there are throwing axes; hard hitting but slow they are great for softening up the enemy whilst you charge into combat
For long range skirmishers there are javelins; long ranged and accurate they are excellent for keeping enemies at bay
For the alchemists there are potion grenades; with many different effects, ranging from flaming oil to anti-undead holy water, your sure to be able strike any enemies weak spot.
For the archaeologists there are the Dwemer grenades; high explosives which will decimate large groups of enemies quickly

Features
=========================================================================
The throwing weapons are simple to use, just aim and throw. They can also be dual wielded with both conventional weapons and other throwing weapons.

To get hold of these weapons you can craft them yourself at any forge providing you have the correct smithing perks for the job
If your impatient, however, there is also a chest in Riverwood which contains all of the weapons in the mod. The chest can be found on the walkway above the Western entrance to Riverwood (Road leading from Helgen)

Followers can only be equipped with the throwing axes for the time being. So far all of the housecarls and the hirelings and follower Companions can use them. I will extend the NPC use to the knives, javelins, potions and grenades eventually.

Each type of throwing weapon is governed by a particular skill, using the weapons will train you in that skill aswell.
The Potion Grenades are governed by your Alchemy Skill
The Throwing Axes/Knives/Javelins are governed by your Archery Skill
The Dwemer Grenades will be governed by your Smithing Skill

The following equation is used by the weapons to calculate the damage
(Base Damage * (1 + ((Skill level/100) * 0.5))) * Perk multiplier

Therefore levelling your corresponding skill and investing in the perks which increase damage by a percentage will increase your damage output.

Release News
========================================================================
Version 6.0.0 features fixes to sneak attacks not working, sneak power attacks breaking throwing and power attacks now cause extra damage. I have also added shurikens and new potion grenade models. The throwing knife models have also been reduced in size for realism. There has also been a number of other smaller fixes and tweaks.

Troubleshooting
=========================================================================
Please try these first before posting

Problem - If you are experiencing smaller bugs and you are running other mods, some of the non-critical files of this mod could be conflicting with those in the other mods. By loading it first, the files from the other mods will overwrite the unneeded files in this mod.
Solution - Assign this mod to be FIRST in the load order, if it still does not work disable all other mods in sequence until you find the conflicting one and then let me know so I can maybe fix it.

Problem - The weapons are invisible in the inventory or in the hand

Solution - The mod archive has not been uploaded properly. Let me know if this has happened so I can re-upload it.

Problem - If you have encountered problems after updating there may have a been a change to the code that is not being refreshed by the game or previous 'residual' code is interfering with current code.

Solution - Load skyrim with Throwing Weapon mod disabled. Load up your character. Make a save and quit. Enable the Throwing Weapons mod again. Load the previous save and this will create a 'Clean Save. Now try the mod.

Further problems(After attempting previous fixes) - There could be a bug with the version (probably a mistake or oversight on my behalf), in this case use a previous build(can be found on Nexus) and please message or comment letting me know that you are having problems and Ill do my best to fix ASAP.

Hello! just wanted to say first off that I've been really enjoying the mod. However, recently, and this is with no changes in terms of other mods, I have been having a glitch where sneak attacks break throwing. it seems to duplicate my weapon and collides with itself in mid air creating 2 to 4 copies of the original thrown weapon. this is without any perks in double throw. trouble shooting doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?

by regularly attacking... i think... if you throw your wep, does it go out of your items list like arrows?

I would really like more javelins! I don't know if we're supposed to be able to pick them up after throwing, but I cannot - even if I throw it into a wall.

This is a great mod because it is necessary for Assassin's Creed Mods and "roleplay"
Give an Ezio Auditore Follower a Throwing Knife or two, a Sword/Dagger, etc. and watch the fun!

The Axe And Kinfe usually work as regular axes and knives not being throwable when holding
Aim for that weapon UnSubed

I am not sure if you realize this, but the throwing knives have higher damage than throwing axes, which are stronger than daggers, and I made a load of dragon throwing knives, but they are a LOT higher damage than my Dragon Sword (Legendary). I feel that they shouldn't be higher than a sword that is maxed out...
