"TBTW!" Moves into Closed Beta!
New Developer Update Video
Release date: Q4 2013!

Tesla Breaks The World! (lovingly paraphrased as 'TBTW!') is a 2D platformer developed by Archetype Global for the PC, Mac and Linux. TBTW is a combination of platforming, puzzle solving, randomly-generating levels, inventions and of course, zombies!

We're a bunch of nobodies making this game, but we're having fun and we're delighted that you're taking the time to check out what we're doing. Feel free to leave comments or feedback!

Yes, we know its another zombie game, yes- its procedurally generated... Yes, its ANOTHER Nikola Tesla Platformer... Oh wait. When was the last time you played a game as Tesla battling 1800's-era undead?

Free pigeons for everyone!!

What TBTW! is all about:
  • Pleasuring your eye balls. The art of TBTW! is a unique, hand-drawn style that draws inspiration from classic cartoons, modern art and the legendary works of Eyvind Earle.
  • Simple mechanics. We're creating a game that has a simple, yet intuitive gameplay and puzzle design with a clean and minimalistic UI.
  • Inventions + Science. Find new ways to beat puzzles as you progress. Magnifying transmitters, electric-powered hover platform thingies, remote controls, Tesla Coils, X-Rays and even... Peace Rays...
  • Efficiency. The less efficiently you are able to solve puzzles, the more likely zombies will spawn around you. Use your inventions wisely or expect things to get even more complicated...
  • Randomization! RNG Or 'random number generation'. Get some replayability from this platformer with levels randomly generating sectors, puzzles and environments as you play. Limited lives make your decisions all that more important...
  • Homage. Giving the nod to science and art with tribute to the legendary minds of Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison (okay business mind), Eyvind Earle and more...

I've done an incredibly poor job of keeping this GL page updated with new screenshots and videos. We're working on a lot of new media to go with our closed beta. So stay posted! We have a lot of new screenshots and videos coming in the next few days and weeks!

@Micah: Thank you for your offer, but I don't want to be rewarded for being a dick then apologizing for it, the truth of the matter is that I shouldn't have been a dick and I made myself look like an ass.

I will, however, purchase your game if it gets the go ahead and gets a launch sale with a decent price.. and the trailer/descriptions catch my attention.

I gave you a greenlight vote, for vehemently and intelligently defending your art. Which as a musician I should never have blindly criticized since I know how much that can hurt.

Thank you for putting me in my place without being puerile or pointlessly condescending the way I was.

Best wishes and luck to you.

@Glockalisk: That was unexpected! We will definitely accept the apology. Remind me when the game is out, will send a free game key your way.

Please do understand that I am easily enraged over seeing Tesla-everything from people completely obsessed with him but that know nothing of the actual field. I do not claim to know more than your development team, only the people that have personally gotten under my skin with their ignorant arguments.

I acted rashly, and hope that in a world of internet trolling an apolgy will be accepted.

Sorry for being a dick.

@Micah Post deleted. Touche good sir. Best of luck on your venture.

@Glockalisk: Actually, we required every developer to have a degree in BOTH engineering and math. HA! While we developed the game, we also were able to leverage our development teams compendium of all human knowledge to determnine that the Riemann hypothesis is (in fact) an accurate conjecture. Additionally, we determined that: No, P ≠ NP. Imagine that! So as you can see, in addition to developing video games, we're a team of scientists really. Capable of resolving a host of unsolvable mysteries. These feats allow us to say (with an absolute sense of certainty) that you are in fact wrong. Tesla was actually not a moron, neither are those who idolize him. But thanks for the feedback, we love hearing from kids! Sorry to hear about your Caps Lock sticking.
