The Gallic Wars

Here is the english version of my 6 scenarios long campaign "La Guerre des Gaules".
A version made for "The Forgotten" expansion is available here.

Discover how Julius Caesar conquered Gaul in less than a decade: relive the famous battles of Gergovia, Alesia and many more. Defeat Vercingetorix and his ferocious warriors to become known in all of Rome!

This campaign uses the AI "Immobile Units AI GOLD[]" made by Zanzard Lothar.

Despite my best efforts, if you find untranslated text, typos or sentences that sound odd to native english speakers, please make a pastebin and leave it in the comments. I'll update accordingly.

Very nice one, playing and reading wikipedia about battles

Most of the time, I use an immobile units AI because otherwise units scatter all over the place/use all of their soldiers to defeat you right at the beginning of the game. But I agree with the "this is too easy" part, I doubt I'll fix it anytime soon though, as I've lost interest in making campaigns.

Also, this version of the campaign doesn't have legionnaries simply because it wasn't made for The Forgotten expansion. It uses the Byzantine civilization instead of the Italian one, too.

Try my latest campaign "The Arthurian Legend" for something more triggers heavy. Thanks for your comment.

One more thing: as others have mentioned you should really add units like the Legionaries to this campaign. I would also recommend switching technology trees to makes more sense then having Italians (naval/archery civilization)

This is really a cool idea and I appreciate the work you put into it, but there are a few problems. I've done the first two levels so far and the AI is pretty bad. Set it on hard and most of the time the enemy just sits around doing nothing. Finished Level 2 and the enemy didn't even attack...pretty much spent the whole game doing economy/base building, yet had no army.

If you could increase the difficulty/AI, this campaign would be so much better. Maybe add a few more triggers as well. I like the idea behind the campaign and how it reflects the vanilla AoE 2 campaigns, but it is far tooo easy.

very interested! playing with Roman units would be great! yes they are from the alaric campaign in DLC! mounted legionnaires =Byzantine castle unit, maybe make spearman legionnaire and infantry legionnaire! that would be amazing

Legionaries are from the DLC right? I might make a FE version of this campaign if there is enough demand (normally, it should require next to no work but who knows with bugs).
To anyone interested, let me know!

this would be great if there you could spawn the legionnaires from the Alaric campaign !
Not a complaint, as this was a good campaign, just a suggestion!
