DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT MY WORK, I AM SIMPLY MAKING IT AVAILABLE ON THE WORKSHOP FOR EASIER DOWNLOAD AND USE

The original author goes by the handle "A. Cyprus" over on Armaholics. This mod has been massively useful to me and my group, and making it more widely available can hardly be a bad thing, so I'm publishing it here for all to download. Below you'll find the original description and disclaimers written by the creator himself, and if you're interested in seeing the mod's Armaholics page, that can be found HERE[www.armaholic.com]

Description:
Tired of long marches and endless foot patrols? Fed up of perma-holding your W key? Lazy fingers, Homer fingers, or missing fingers? Let Cyprus Autorun do the work for you, now with bonus Autowalk! Cyprus Autorun allows you to toggle automatic running or walking of your player character via configurable keys.

Autorun and Autowalk key bindings may be changed in-game via: CONFIGURE > CONTROLS > CONFIGURE ADDONS.
Hitting any movement key or taking damage in-game will disable Autorun or Autowalk toggles.
When fatigue kicks in, or terrain becomes too steep, Autorun will temporarily switch to Autowalk until it is able to switch back.
Tap your regular in-game SPRINT key to activate sprint while Autorunning. Tap it again to switch back to the regular jog-run.
Zeus is supported while remote controlling infantry units.

For usage instructions and information of how to use Cyprus Autorun please refer to the included documentation.
Set your Autorun key bindings in-game via: OPTIONS > CONTROLS > CONFIGURE ADDONS

License / Disclaimer:
While I have no use for such an addon myself, a BattleGroup buddy joked about wanting one and it seemed an interesting scripting challenge to try.
But. Cyprus Autorun is an experimental addon.
I have tried to prevent any game exploits (e.g. infinite running when fully fatigued, sprinting up impossibly steep hills, running across the seabed etc) and also to ensure it works in most situations you'd expect it to (whilst holding any weapon).
However.
It may yield unpredictable results. Use responsibly and at your own risk. Please do post constructive feedback, helpful advice, bug reports or sensible feature requests below.
I am especially interested to hear about any situations you discover where it messes up movement animations or is incompatible with other addons. I have not tested with AGM or ACE3, when dragging objects, for example.

doesnt work for me as of Sept 22. As said below, it says its loaded but the control panel never shows for this mod under Control Options. Bummer.

Hi!

I tried both steam version and the version on armaholic, but couldn't get either one of them to work. I experience similar issues:

1) mod shows that it's loaded in the main menu, with the mod icon showing
2) nothing appears in the menu
3) pressing the default key doesn't do anything


I think autorun should be a vanilla feature to begin with.

OK,

I've tested this workshop version using the current workshop version of CBA.

Autorun works.

I tested this running on a local mission, and via placing a unit in the Editor and running around.

Remember, like all addons, this mod requires a server to allow you to use it. If the server is not allowing the signature key for this addon, it will not be activated on your client while you are playing on that server.

Please try it out using an Editor session or a local mission.

Re Coryf88's comment on addon.pbo not being signed - this is not part of my work and most likely created during upload to the workshop.

Hey all. I've tested the source addon with vanilla Arma + CBA.

The addon is working correctly.

The addon shows an entry under: OPTIONS > CONTROLS > CONFIGURE ADDONS

I'll test the workshop version now. It's possible this workshop version is broken.

I did not upload this to the workshop and therefore cannot maintain it. I suggest you download the source addon from the Bohemia forums instead.

Like Majic12, there doesn't appear to be any menu for the mod in the configure addons section. And pressing CTRL-W doesn't cause anything to occur. I just have this and CBA_A3 installed.

It still works fine for me. :) The keybinding settings are there.

For anyone who can't see them, the defaults are CTRL+W for auto-run and CTRL-ALT-W for auto-walk (not positive on the second one, as I only ever use it for running). Then tap your shift key once you're jogging (or whatever key you have set for sprinting) and it will auto-sprint.
