Updated October 6th, 2013 with Enhanced Iron Boots, that no longer slow you down, but still elminate stagger in battle.

These boots are meant to be a visual blend of the Ocarina of Time Iron Boots and the Twilight Princess Iron Boots, as well as resembling an Ancient Nord artifact once worn by a long-dead warrior. As such, they can be found in a Nordic Ruin in northern Skyrim.

They are very heavy, and slow the wearer down considerably. You can sprint in them, but it is hardly worth it. Also, when you are overencumbered while wearing them, you can barely move, making climbing stairs very difficult. The Boots are also loud, so enemies will be alerted to your presence very easily, even if you are sneaking.

Also, I simply cannot figure out how to make them sink. I'm sorry, but I don't have the coding expertise or the patience to make that happen.

They can be improved at a workbench with an oricalchum ingot and an iron ingot, and no perks are required, since the boots are technically not enchanted. This makes it very easy to improve them. However, they will not hold an enchantment.

The Enhanced Iron Boots can be made at the Skyforge with Wisp Wrappings, two Quicksilver Ingots and The Iron Boots. Wisp Wrappings fortfy Carry Weight, you see. These new boots are a little quieter, and will no longer slow you down, but are still very heavy.

Summary of The Iron Boots:
+ Equal armor rating to Dragonplate Boots
+ Easily improved at workbench
+ Greatly reduced stagger in battle
- Very slow movement
- Very heavy
- Loud footsteps, making you easy to detect, even when sneaking.

Spoilers and behind the magic below!

The Iron Boots are in Volskygge, and actually do have their own enchantment for making the player move slowly. Also, I used the Dwarven Centurion footstep sound, making the Boots AWESOME. They are based on the dragonplate boots mesh, hence their old, dented look.

How do I spawn them in? What command is it?

Dang, I just found them. What do you know? They were in a room that I walked past. Thanks for the mod!

Hey there. I installed your mod and made my way to Volskygge to plunder the boots from its depths. However, even after having traversed the dungeon from start to finish, I failed to find the boots. Are they hidden somewhere or was I just negligent and ended up walking by them?

That would be awesome! ;D

I guess they mostly exist as an homage to Zelda. Even so, I'm thinking of fiddling with them so they completely eliminate stagger in battle, and maybe adding a way to make them lighter, faster (but not too fast) and highly protective.

These are cool and all but seriously why would you want them lol you just move 10 times slower and are noisy as hell D; i do love the look though

I love the look and the sounds, but I wish you didn't have to make them slow you down so considerably, you should have added the unenchanted version.

Unfortunately, I do little but textures, enchantments and minor scripting. I have no experience with animations or activating things like that.
