About the Game
Can you defeat the enemy Wizard to win the realm?

Wizard Chess is a fun turn-based, game of magic and strategy. Your skill at movement, research, and prowess in battle determines the power and success of your magical army. Unlike standard chess, control of a square on the chessboard is not guaranteed. To win the square you must win it in a turn based magical battle of skill and wit. When you win battles, the characters in your army become more powerful and gain the ability to cast more spells. Winning battles improves your position on the chessboard assuring your eventual victory or demise.

Key features
  • Control your army of magical creatures, including Witches, Wizards, Apprentices, Trolls, Sorcerers, and Magicians!
  • Attack your opponent’s army and wage strategic battles for control of the chessboard in turn based combat!
  • Choose your opponent from among 4 diabolical and cunning Artificial Intelligences (AI). Each AI plays differently and requires you to use different strategies in order to win the realm! AI Caesar, will stop at nothing to take you down. AI Nemo hits you with a balance attack. AI Matilda may change her strategy on a whim! AI Willard, careful and thoughtful.
  • Research and cast devastating spells!
  • Confound your opponent with illusions!
  • Burn your opponent with lava!
  • Smash your opponent with earthquakes!
  • Even freeze your opponent in solid ice!
  • Level up your army to gain access to more powerful spells!
  • Easy to learn a life time to master! Your armies characters move like standard chess pieces:
  • Apprentices move and attack like pawns.
  • Trolls move and attack like rooks.
  • Sorcerer’s teleport and attack like knights.
  • Magicians move and attack like bishops.
  • Witches move and attack like Queens
  • Wizards move and attack like Kings.
  • You can choose to research any spell on any turn!
  • Combine the effects of spells to win battles! For example, cast curse to increase the damage of your spells!
  • Every game will challenge you in unique and fun ways!
  • Humorous voices add levity to the gameplay.!

* As many people can agree, multiplayer is a very key part of chess, and as many comments have pointed out, this version is not multiplayer (yet). This doesn't mean it won't. I believe multiplayer has to be perfect or it kills the game playability completely, and that is why I won't release it with a half-baked version of multiplayer even though the game code already supports it. The game WILL support multiplayer though... I just need time to get the matchmaking code complete!
