RefleX hits Steam today!
RefleX Locked & Loaded for March 27th!
Description
Release date: June 2013
Coming June 6th from Nyu Media: English localizations of one of the most revered and respected Japanese shooting game series ever. Brain-transplanted fighter craft, reflective shield technology, and blade-based melee attacks take on genocidal A.I. and ancient alien weapons of mass destruction! More AWESOME than you can shake a stick at!

"Taito took the torch to their Layer Section / Ray- series, handed it to SITER SKAIN, and said, "Hey man, you got this." Lock-ons 'n homing lasers ahoy!" - DJI, @shmups

"SITER SKAIN's games are quite possibly the best doujin shmups ever created" - Ghegs, Shmups Forum

"Compelling... The indie answer to Taito's classic Rayforce series" - Dominic Tarason, IndieStatik

What Is The Tale of ALLTYNEX?
The Tale of ALLTYNEX is a trilogy of arcade shooting games, created for the PC (Windows) by Japanese indie developer SITER SKAIN. All three games are legends in shmup / shooting game communities, both in Japan and overseas. We are currently working with SITER SKAIN to bring the complete trilogy to gamers worldwide in English for the first time from June 6th.

Western gamers will finally be able to fully enjoy the unique mechanics, carefully crafted play experiences, focus on destructive fun, dramatic presentation and engaging score attack gameplay which have made the ALLTYNEX games renowned in Japan. Sci-fi fans will also enjoy the backdrop to the action, which is a millennium-spanning saga which encompasses global civil war, an ages old alien threat and humanity in need of salvation as it teeters on the edge of extinction.

The three games that make up the chapters of the ALLTYNEX trilogy are:

CHAPTER ONE: ALLTYNEX Second
The year is 2192AD. 40 years ago, the Stellar-class All-purpose Administrative Computer ALLTYNEX suddenly attempted to enact genocide upon mankind. Commandeering armies of unmanned weapons, ALLTYNEX enacted a massacre so terrible that within only 72 hours of the start of the incident, approximately 85% of the world's population had perished.

A small number of people narrowly managed to escape beyond the solar system, but their population steadily declined in the face of brutally harsh living conditions. Now, gambling everything, the remaining survivors rally to begin their first and final attempt to reclaim the Earth. Fight your way through the drone armies and Guardian Soldiers to end the Era of A.I. Dominance!

  • 5 stages of carefully crafted 2.5D vertical scrolling shooting action!
  • Powerful Blade melee mechanic: get up close and personal for maximum destruction!
  • Target enemies from afar with Homing Lasers or lance through enemies and bullets alike with the powerful Buster Rifle!
  • Advanced combo system: smart play and switching between melee and fighter modes is rewarded!
  • Tutorial, Practice and Replay (featuring normal and cinematic views) modes!

CHAPTER TWO: RefleX
Many years have passed since the ALLTYNEX incident and humanity’s resettlement of the Earth. The world’s nations have joined to form a unified economy and a global militaristic government. However, in opposition to the worldwide mass oppression, a resistance organization arose: Valkyness.

The decades long conflict between the Global Unified Army and Valkyness is suddenly interrupted when an alien force attacks the Earth in an attempt to destroy mankind. They are the Raiwat and they seek vengeance on humanity for atrocities inflicted upon their people.

Earth's war against the Raiwat leads to a surprising ending that reduces almost the entire planet to scorched earth, brings mankind to the verge of extinction and sows the seeds of the events to follow in KAMUI.

  • 8 stages of action and massive boss battles!
  • Use the reflective shield system mechanic for perfect defense or to powerfully reflect enemy attacks!
  • Carefully crafted dramatic developments to match the in-game story progress!
  • Take on a diverse roster of enemies: from the Global Unified Army forces to the Raiwat invaders and their apocalyptic living devices!
  • Features Arcade, Training and unlockable Soundtrack modes!

CHAPTER THREE: KAMUI
The mysterious object that had shimmered in the blue sky for countless generations and was worshiped by men as a god was in fact a massive man-made structure. And now, the silent vigil that was thought would last forever has come to an end.

Centuries have passed since the events of RefleX and mankind has once again attained civilization. Now, ancient technology born of a twisted mind sets in motion a chain of events designed to bring divine retribution down upon mankind. The key to bring forth the annihilation is KAMUI, a fighter craft based on ‘Xaffiquel Theory” brain fusion technology. This twin-tined instrument of mankind's destruction carries a terrible secret that ironically will prove to be mankind’s only hope for salvation.

  • 6 stages of meticulously designed levels and presentation!
  • The 'real deal'! 2D arcade shooting action over high & low altitude planes!
  • Score multiplier system based on an auto-targeting Lighting Attack!
  • Destroy enemy bullets using the powerful Lightning Katana!
  • Finely-tuned difficulties and rank system: pick from several difficulty settings based on precision enemy placement and algorithms or let the game adjust the difficulty according to your skills!
  • New to the English version: TATE (rotated) display mode!

I wonder, can't be games be sold individually, and then have a "Tale of ALLTYNEX" bundle with all three games?

Apologies for the delay, guys. Just waiting for Valve to get back regarding our request to provide the games on a standalone basis as well as a collection and then I'll be back with an update on progress and plans. Thank you for for your patience!

You should ride on the Ikaruga popularity wave, not is the time to release ALLTYNEX too :D
Will the games upscale with correct aspect ratio in fullscreen mode?
YodelingZero Feb 2 @ 8:58am
Fuck yes. I know I'm pretty late on this, but congratulations guys.

@Nemo - I do. I didn't invest in a big enough screen, a decent enough rig and on top of that, intend to pay money for games that are not developed to be played in HD. Take Ikaruga for example, it's coming out in full HD on Steam. That, i'll definitely buy. I believe Danmaku Unlimited 2 is also coming out in HD on Steam. Both games also via Greenlight. I don't see why the devs here couldn't do it.
