Milky Way Galaxy Texture

This mod simply replaces the original Skyrim galaxy texture with an actual image of our own Milky Way galaxy. The rest of the sky elements (stars, auroras, moons) remain vanilla and function as they normally do.

This mod should also work with any other mod as long as it doesn't modify the galaxy's functionality or texture.

v1.2 - More color tweaks.

v1.1 - Sourced a higher resolution texture, cleaned up and tweaked the color values.

v1.0 - Release.

Mister Nohbody Earth isn't the only inhabitable planet that can see the Milky Way.

Thank you so much for this. The debate on if this is realistic or not shouldn't matter because being able to play a game and have the opprotunity to see our own galaxy (even if it is digital) is wonderful. Light pollution sucks, so I take every chance to go out and drive a hour to see the Milky Way in real life, but having this mod allows me to appreciate it in the comfort of my home.

So is Nirn in the Milky Way galaxy or something? The planet in Skyrim (and every other TES game for that matter) isn't Earth.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I subscribbed a while back, loving this mod - lost everything when my computer crashed. Got my computer fixed, discovered everything reset and for the life of me I can't figure out why that happened. Been searching for this mod ever since . . . 'til it finally occured to me to just type "galaxy" into the searchbar and hope.

So happy to have gotten it back. Makes the Skyrim nights just spectacular.

the gods have ripped open the game to forsake you

I have one little question: isn't Milky Way supposed to be more from north to south. In game it's from east to west and it's a little bit disturbing. Thank you.

@merchant If you want an explaination of what's up with the sky in vanilla Skyrim (which you probs don't lel soz) I can tell you, you see in Skyrim, the universe is NOTHING like ours, in fact there is only one planet in the entire universe, being Nirn, and stars aren't stars at all, they're simply holes in oblivion (which is seen by the people of Nirn as the blackness of space) that lead into Aetherius (the point of origin of magic), their sun (magnus) is just a hole bigger than the rest.
