Looking down upon the Skaal Village and carved into the mountain, is Skaal Sanctuary - a home soley dedicated to the magic arts. Below, lies the Stronghold, an underground fortification which was once home to a long line of warrior-legends, including Miraak himself. For many years, these great halls have stood empty, waiting for the one who shall forfill the prophecy and take hold of this mighty fortress.

UPDATE (10/01/2015)
Hi all, for those of you who have been requesting an option to move the spouse and children to the house can download the mod 'Custom Family Home' by VitchRazor. I have added the mod to my game and have relocated my family successfully.
UPDATE: (24/05/2013)
There is now a secret room located on the top level of the stronghold with a throne and a collection of interesting items. Fixed all lighting issues that may have been present.
UPDATE: (12/05/2013)
There are now mannequins in the Stronghold.
UPDATE: (26/04/2013) Hi everyone, I have completed the third stage of this Player House which is called "Wolf Ridge Farm". It is located near the Skaal Village and is situated on the shore of the lake opposite Thirsk Mead Hall. I encourage subscribers of this mod to please check it out as it would complement the existing Sanctuary & Stronghold.

I originally intended it to be part of this mod but I then decided to make it an optional addition. This way, players can choose to use this mod on its own or in conjuction with the Skaal Sanctuary & Stronghold Player House.

Entry is via the stronghold, which is accessible through a trapdoor at the base of the great wall. One must first reach the balcony in order to enter the Sanctuary.

A book called "The Legend of The Skaal" can be found on the balcony which further explains the history of the fortress.

Can you make it where my children can live here? Please please please!

Are the children included as the spouse is? Surely a mansion this immence would have provisions for children. I hope.
To the hear the laughter of children running the halls means the Dragonborn could become a grandparent and the All-Maker would be pleased.

Awww! A tiny Alduin on a tiny Word Wall inside and an itsy bitsy Miraak in a little lantern! (Do not question my Nord-hood.) Anyway, awesome mod, and keep doing great things for the community!

@jcole3 and Varg: I will have a look at the lighting etc. and will make a small update soon.
Varg May 6, 2013 @ 1:20pm
and uh...you could add a balcony overlooking the smaller islands, that'd be breathtaking

Hello! The mod is truly awesome, very nice details. It's hard to find tho, you should upload it on the nexus for more popularity ;) However the fortress feels a bit empty, you could add some skaal warriors living there, and the sanctuary is way too bright. Great job anyway!

Yes, the book appeared on the table and it described the update but no reference to the other mods loation. Is it on steam or nexus?
Ebony Soul  [author] Apr 30, 2013 @ 1:55am
@jcole3: Yeah, Wolf Ridge Farm is a separate mod that I've made. Thanks for your feedback and helpful suggestions. I finally realised that I had to re-upload the mod through the creation kit in order for it to update. I was also going to ask if the book appeared in the Stronghold explaining the update.
