New character art
Light and Shadow 2
A 2D Old-School dark fantasy RPG with a small cast, focusing on character development and atmosphere.

The Dark Rain Forest. A demonic woods created by a terrible entity. A patiently growing darkness. The land is under its ever tightening grip, and has been for the past 87 years.

You play the game as Dark, a female Moonhunter who stands her own in a world ruled by men. Although she is tough, selfish and enjoys using sarcasm, she will defends herself - and those she loves - like a lioness. When one day Dark is hired to save a boy named Keshi, she finds out he has a unique power, linking the two together in a way which forever changes their lives.

- ATB side view battle system
- Shield Break battles: use special magic to break an enemy's defense
- No overworld or world map, but large, explorable areas
- No random encounters; your choice to fight or flee
- Original character art and music
- A gripping story revolving around character development, history, and sacrifice

Future developments:
- Animated cutscenes
- Original monster art, backgrounds and sound effects
- A New Game Plus feature that drastically changes the course of the entire game

Creator's note
Yes, I understand the volley of RPG-maker games that bombards this community. From the impressive to the ridiculous, I was a tad reluctant at first to add "yet another one". In the end, though, I want to tell my story and add my own compositions; I am not a programmer, and the RPG-maker system makes for a fine medium to tell my tale. Moonhunter has been in the works for roughly one year now, and will take many more years to complete: I am a one-man army, but I take creating this game very seriously. To me it is a character study, focusing on the relationships between unlikely heroes, adding emotional depth and development to those two dimensional sprites. In any and all case, I am slowly exploring ways to get feedback and eventually publish this game. I hope you will enjoy it during this process, too.

Glad you find that's the case as well. It is a bit hard to get immersed with the character's emotions in just the demo, but throughout the game I hope to evolve their personalities, and have them grow.

I had given that thought, but eventually decided against it. The story, and how it progresses, naturally ended up feeling 'just right' with a female lead. I can understand immersion may suffer from it for some people - but I won't change that aspect. I do hope you will enjoy the game (or demo at least) without a male lead.

I'm enjoying the demo so far haven't really had much time to play but i've played an hour. My only real complaint more nit-picking then anything. This might sound really stupid or sexist but I personally prefer to play as a Male character then a Female character helps me with the immersion of an RPG experience. If you could find a way to include a Male and Female main character it would appeal to alot more people, but then you have to change dialogue and story elements which would be quite time consuming. Like I said earlier it,s really picking at the little things. Still playing the demo loving the story and characters so far.
