I've always thought that bounty rewards were underwhelming - Item Rewards For Bounties makes bounty quest rewards much more interesting and unpredictable, while being level appropriate and balanced.

This mod adds a random leveled item as a reward upon quest completion, and changes bounty rewards to 250 gold for Bandits/Forsworn, 500 gold for Giants and 1000 gold for dragons.

Leveled item rewards include one of the following:

Enchanted Circlets
Rare Alchemy Ingredients (up to 2)
Enchanted Necklaces
Enchanted Rings
Enchanted Robes
Enchanted Weapons
Filled Soul Gems (No black soul gems)
Spell Tomes (Novice, Apprentice, Adept - no Expert or Master tomes)
Empty Soul Gems (No black soul gems - up to 2)
1-Handed Weapons
2-Handed Weapons
Uncommon Alchemy Ingredients (up to 4)
Common Alchemy Ingredients (up to 5)

NOTE: If you have a bounty quest in your quest log prior to installing the mod, you will get the old rewards, and you won't get an item. Make sure to have this mod installed before you accept any bounty quests, and keep it activated through the whole quest.

ALSO NOTE: This mod works automatically for most people, but some people do not receive items, only the proper gold amount. If you experience this, please see the following section:

IF THIS MOD IS NOT WORKING FOR YOU: Go to this file on the Skyrim Nexus here and try installing it from there, along with a fix I've posted there. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11157

Try the optional BQScript Fix 1 and 2 files I have uploaded. Try 1 first, just placing the BQScript.pex into your Skyrim/Data/Scripts folder and then testing the mod again.

If this doesn't work, try Fix 2, which is replacing the default BQScript.psc file in the Skyrim/Data/Scripts/Source folder. BACK UP THE ORIGINAL FILE, and preferably BACK UP THE WHOLE FOLDER BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THIS. I don't want to be responsible for having to reinstall the game because I didn't tell you to back up the file first :).

Fix 1 is confirmed to work (thanks talcottparsons!).

The issue is that Steam automatically bundles modified existing scripts into .bsa files, such as BQScript, which this quest modifies. For some installs of Skyrim, these scripts must float freely for Skyrim to properly recognize them. This is why I direct you to the Nexus, because the Steam Workshop mod system will not allow this kind of fix (many thanks to Samutz for this info!).

Undying Companions: Makes all companions essential, meaning they cannot die by friendly or hostile damage. Exceptions: Erandur, Cicero and Eola.

Breezehome Enchanting Table - Adds an enchanting table to Breezehome right next to the Alchemy Lab. Will only show up once Alchemy Lab decoration is purchased from Proventus in Dragonsreach. Mood lighting included.

Enhanced Alchemy XP - Slightly increases Alchemy XP gain rate (20%) to balance with other skills such as Smithing. Still balanced, more fun.

I did several bounties yesterday and they were all 100 gold. Could it be a load order issues?

As is likely obvious by now, I have stopped supporting & updating my mods, as well as not creating new mods. I may return to modding in the future, but I did not pace myself well, and burned out some time ago. I may enter modding again when real life and renewed interest allows, and if so, I will pace myself better to maintain a long term relationship with the modding community. It occurred to me this past week that I had never communicated this to fans or subscribers, and I sincerely apologize for my lack of communication.

Thank you very much for your feedback, and for using this mod and others I have created. It is extremely encouraging to see that even in my absence, the mods I labored to create are still being enjoyed and used in Skyrim games today.

Didn't seem to work at first but the last bounty gave me 1500 gold instead of the usual piddling 100, so guess it just need time to settle in or something. :-)

I have been away from modding since May for personal reasons. If you are having issues, I don't know what to tell you as I have all current DLC and the mod works for me (using Fix 1). If you have Fix 1 and it isn't working, you either need to find what mod is conflicting with this one (anything that edits quest rewards is a possibility) or start a new game (to load the script cleanly).

My recent testing shows that the mod works. I'm sorry I don't have more for you than that, but if you have Fix 1 installed and it's not working, I don't know what to tell you.

Nice idea, but I won't be using it. Even scaled weapons and armor are pretty useless to me as someone who can already make any armor with any enchantment. I mostly do the bounties as favors to the Jarl to become thane, or just for fun.

works ok for altering gold rewarded for the quests, but no leveled items. tried the fixes on nexus, no dice. reordered load orders, merged leveled lists, everything i can think of and they're just not there. Can't figure out what's causing it :/
