Scope Style Guide
By Calsetes
Work in progress:

This guide will attempt to show you each scope's viewstyle - "what you see when you aim" - as well as listing what bonus is granted by that scope for each weapon type. I'll attempt to update this when I can, but be warned that it may be slowgoing, and I sometimes get easily sidetracked by playing the game, as opposed to making a guide.

Currently finished with all Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle scopes available for purchase at the first Mod station. Also adding default scopes on weapons where possible (i.e. Votan Bolter bolt-action sniper rifle.)

Since the patch update, this guide is now obsolete because they bugged all the scopes. I contacted Trion support, but they ignore me.

I am very disappointed with the recent release of the DLC/Patch Update. All of my assault rifle scopes have changed for the worse. This change could not have been intentional and it has completely turned me off from playing the game (not to mention the horrible new chat interface and the removal of the "ctrl" quick access menu for emotes).

I can barely see out of my Stabilization scope on my favorite assault rifle. I have tried switching it out by repurchasing the same scope in hopes that I was just bugged or something, but it is a problem introduced by the latest patch. I have spent so much money on this game it is ridiculous to see them selling it for $9.99 now and have completely destroyed the game instead of improving things.

@Subotai, for someone who is supposedly an expert, you just sounded retarded as fuck about weapons. Not only can a saw fire the same exactly bullets a m4 can, the m4 can shoot the same bullets a saw can. Don't know how many times in country we had to break up saw rounds just to get ammo for our m4's. Add the the fact that this game has aliens and advanced weapons, its not highly unlikely that the EMC, EREP or Votanis collective all created their future weapons to fire the same ammunition, so they could reload on the fly with the very limited amount of ammunition being created or being found in post pale war's earth. Good job trying to sound hard like your some weapons expert, you really just sounded dumb as hell.

Uh, @Subotai: the 249 SAW uses linked 5.56 NATO rounds. Which means that if you took the time to pop the disintegrating link belt, you could indeed load it into an M4 carbine. In fact, several military firearms share a common ammunition pool for that reason (early 249 SAWs allowed you to pop a NATO mag in if you were out of belts, for example). A .308 bolt action rifle will accept .308 Winchester OR 7.62 NATO rounds, a 5.56 NATO rifle will chamber and fire .223 Remington rounds just fine (though due to the pressure differences the reverse is not true). There are several submachine guns that are only just now being referred to more correctly as PDWs, as they fire the nation of origin's standard battle rifle ammo.

In addition, though this is just industry nitpicking, the HYDRA Weapons Platform allows, with a couple quick part changes in the field, for a rifleman to fire 5.56 NATO rounds, 7.62x39 Soviet rounds, .300 AAC BLK rounds, 9mm rounds, etc etc.

I just modded my Wolfhound and found out that Scope Style 3 is also for the Advanced Scope for pistols.
