Purge's Guide to Bristleback
By pudge
Bristleback is a tanky semi carry hero who becomes very difficult to kill with the right items.

His main damage source comes from your Quills, which you should use to harass, kill, and last hit with. Your second damage source comes from your ultimate, which makes your right clicks do some seriouis damage, especially with the -armor.

Above all, make sure you play bristleback aggressively, tanking a lot of damage so that your allies don't, since your back will protect you! Spam Quills and Goo in teamfights!

Don't buy a Vanguard. Stick with a Stout Shield + RoH for as long as can you fit them into your slots. Use the RoH for a hood and sell the Stout after a Heart.

The point about the Phases is very valid, didn't realise this myself until I read the guide.

Great guide! Just used it on my first game as bristle and follow it practically step by step until core was completed. If I could make a suggestion, adding in the Mask of madness as a situational DPS (or somewhere else and Vlads), The mask allows for incredible DPS and gives great lifesteal, assuming you get AC (and possibly pipe) you don't need to get the vlad's aura, and there is usually a more viable hero to hold it. Also, the extra attack speed and damage stacked with your ulti is amazing for bursting down players or even buildings. :) Finally, I just love having that situational +100 movement speed, as well as it stacking with ulti. :P
