Final Freeway 2R is an old-school arcade racing game, like those that we've enjoyed at the arcades and on console a few years ago.

Though already on the market for iOS and Android, this game was developed on PC in C++, first in software rendering and then using OpenGL, thus it's platform-agnostic.

The goal of FF2 is to give the arcade experience from the late 80s and early 90s but with a brand new game with kick ♥♥♥ pixel-art and great original tunes.
The controls and the way the road is rendered is unlike any modern engine can do.. it's built ad-hoc to get the proper feeling of those 2.5D games.
This project was a long time coming.. check out the software rendering Java applet prototype form 10+ years ago at http://v4.kazzuya.com/test/kazrace/

The proposed computer version will use additional GPU power to add post-effects that should give a CTR-monitor feeling, plus external controllers support and possibly online leaderboards.

This game doesn't pretend to explore new heights in terms of game play or graphics rendering. This is meant to bring back the dying genre of quick-play arcades to escape 5 minutes at the time. The price will be accordingly low.

The plan is to initially release the game for PC and Mac. But we'll be happy to make a Linux version, too, if there's enough interest around it.

Davide Pasca is the hero that contributed HEAVILY us psx emulation first, under the name Kazzuya (who remember his MAGIC graphic plugins per psx emulator?).
A real hero, a real genius, and an upvote really deserved, from one of the real programmers who knows how to create something different.
