For omore information on Darkwood, keep on dying!
Skills and perks and mutations, oh my!
Darkwood is a top-down, oldschool survival horror set in a procedurally generated, open world. It features RPG and roguelike elements, with intense combat and a eerie atmosphere. In a nutshell, it can be described as a mix of Project Zomboid, Don't Starve and Teleglitch, directed by David Lynch.

No hand holding, tooltips or linear paths. Think, learn and adapt - if you will behave recklessly or do not prepare for the night, you will not survive.

Darkwood is a dangerous place and death lurks around every corner. If you die, your savegames get deleted and you have to start over. But not all of your progress is lost, as some things carry on to your next incarnation..

A breathing, procedurally generated world for you to explore. Each visit to Darkwood is unique, as all locations and events are randomized.

Improve your character with skills that will give you advantage over your enemies.

A flexible crafting system which lets you experiment with loot to: create items, build barricades or traps, and improve your gear with addons.

You will start to question your sanity, as the line between reality and nightmarish fantasies will begin to blur.

I gauge the scariness of horror games using my patented Curl Chance™ system, which measures how likely I am to curl into a ball of whimpering fear when I play them. I rate the new trailer for Darkwood, an upcoming top-down survival horror title from indie group Acid Wizard Studio, a “Mommy” out of 10 based on the inky shadows and surreal sense of unease.

Darkwood is a promising top-down horror roguelike that has cult classic written all over it

It’s been SLENDER pickings in the survival horror genre recently but Darkwood has my fear-glands tingling and, disturbingly, salivating. My internal organs are swimming in terror-juice

The fear of the unknown is powerful. Darkwood takes that idea to heart

On what platforms will Darkwood be released?
PC, Mac and Linux.

I can't wait to play! When is it going to be released? Or even a playable alpha version?
We're aiming at mid 2014.

How much will it cost?
You can get it for as low as 10$ during the IndieGoGo, but it's gonna be a bit more when we launch.

Can i pre-order Darkwood somewhere?
Not right now, sorry!

Will this game support multiplayer or co-op?
We didn't reach our stretch goal during the Indiegogo campaign, so sadly not :(

Will there be a linear story line or an open, sandbox world?
The world is fully open and you are free to go wherever you want. There will be a strong, twisted storyline in the background for you to discover and learn the mysteries of Darkwood, but it can be skipped if you wish to focus on the gameplay.
