Steam Greenlight Submission Fee paid & slow status updates
Thanks to the help of a mysterious benefactor, I've obtained official access to Steam Greenlight!

This means that once I get out of concept stages, I can release a playable alpha onto Steam for early access, kind of like how Minecraft had its open alpha/beta stages. Once that's gone from "untested" to "ready", it can be released in the Steam store for purchase and/or download.

The holidays and life in general have exhausted me, as well as various bits of work for others that I've been doing to keep myself busy and not-poor, so unfortunately there hasn't been much progress in terms of a playable demo or proof of concept (well, something newer than the old 2D one I did back in 2006), though I'll be sure to keep anyone still watching this up to date with what's going on. The Indie DB entry will also be updated over time when needed.

EDIT: Have this for being so patient:

Still in development; minor setbacks!
Abstract first-person adventure game in the science fiction genre.
Previous concepts were pre-rendered Myst/Riven style with 8-bit/palette-indexed graphics. More recent concepts were in 24-bit/"truecolor".

I am currently unsure if the graphical direction should remain in pre-rendered 3D, or be done in real-time 3D ala RealMyst or Dear Esther, possibly via something like CryEngine or Valve's Source Engine.

So far, the gameplay consists of exploration and problem solving. The player character is taken to an unfamiliar location and must either find out how to leave, or stay and try to find out more about the world they are now in and its lost civilization.

An example of the kind of music I'm aiming for can be found here:
soundcloud. com/infurnus1/unused-theme-4

The game is currently being worked on by just myself. I will be doing the art/graphics, sound and music, as well as figuring out how to script or code the gameplay/features/engine.
More information will be posted in the future.

Inspired by games like the Myst series, Out of This World (Another World outside the United States) and The Dig.

Also, kudos on the scifi book art observation.

It's under slow development since I'm the only one working on it. I've been waiting on some real life stuff to clear up before going full bore into this. I don't have any guesses at an ETA other than "When it's done", but thank you for showing interest. I will be sure to update this page when I can.

Hi! Really like the art for this game, reminds me of old scifi book jackets, and I'd totally buy this! Is there any word on progress for this title? Been two years...
