Interviews, GDC, and a Demo!?
New Videos and Updates
A man burdened by daily life struggles with his Mental Illness and is near breaking point. His overwhelming sorrows, irrational fears, and the pressure he feels within cause him to enter a realm not known by ordinary humans. He falls into the world of Trium. In his transit he becomes another, the Observer. An androgynous character with a missing piece, the Mouth. Now stuck in this environment with the eyes of a Child and no ability to speak the Observer seeks peace and solace but is faced with darkness and fear. Assisted by Goddesses and inner light the Observer must find peace within or around or risk being trapped within Trium.

Featuring imaginative environments and Music from the likes of Blueneck, Emptyself, Justin Lassen, and many other talented Musicians, this game focuses on self discovery and immersion. Non-linearity, atmosphere, adventure and depth is what defines LifeEssence. It was developed within the grips of Clinical Depression, it is the story of Mental Illness in a metaphorical sense, and the journey for healing. It's developed to shine new light on an existing issue that is highly stigmatized, and to be something unique and positive for the gaming community.

Currently a year in the making we hope to release a demo within the next few months, and a full version this year. 2013.

Thank you 'Of Peace and Fire' I definitely hope it reaches out and is beneficial and fun. Sheep in Space, it's still in development and as is a concept. We're integrating gameplay mechanics right now as well as interactive characters and suitable props. It'll feel much less empty when it's ready to be more fully presented. We're working on putting together the trailer currently with actual mechanics and characters but it's taken longer than expected. We're a team of 4 currently so it takes some time. Thanks for the interest everyone :)

nice idea, but it looks so empty

Thank you both, we're definitely working hard on it. We're planning a demo release in the near future to allow everyone a glimpse of what the game will be like. Really appreciating the support here, so thank you.

Thanks Toolebox Gaming, really appreciate it. Cobblecat, first off thanks for the question, it's a puzzle adventure game centered around regaining sense of who the Observer really is. In the game you wander and solve puzzles to progress. As you play you discover who you are in the game, it's been best compared with Myst, Amnesia, and as below, Dear Esther. Music and Atmosphere play a huge role in it and we've focused heavily on making it extremely immersive and enjoyable. There are also some action elements. We've combined many genres into one to give a full spectrum of emotion and experience.

I don't get it. So what do you do... walk around?

Looks really cool, it seems to have some of the trippiness and mind bending games like Dear Esther have.
I have made sure to vote, and I'll tell some mates about it.

Thank you both :) I just uploaded another image and we've been working on the official trailer pretty diligently to share more of what LifeEssence is about in a visual way. Glad you like what you see and I hope you like the new image and what's to come.
