I will no longer be updating this mod. Instead, I am working on a much better unarmed mod that I have built from scratch. This new mod adds Unarmed and Unarmored skills, tons of new perks, enchantments, and items, and a few surprises as well. You can keep up with the progress of the mod here:

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/626294-wip-way-of-the-monk-unarmed-overhaul/ i

or here:

********************************Unarmed skill tree now added to game********************************

Makes One-Handed perks affect Unarmed attacks, raises your one-handed by using unarmed attacks, and adds an Unarmed branch to the skill tree.

The original version without a separate skill tree can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7803

This mod can also be found on the Skyrim Nexus at: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8288

+ Adds an Unarmed perk tree, with unique perks
+ Adds a perk like Fists of Steel to the Light Armor skill tree
+ Unarmed attacks are now affected by the Backstab perk
+ "Unarmed Weapon" added to use ingame, advances your One-Handed skill
+ Sneak damage multiplier perks affect unarmed attacks

Latest Changes:

+ Moved Pickpocketing perks to Sneak skill tree
+ Renamed Pickpocketing skill to Unarmed
+ Moved Unarmed perks to new Unarmed skill tree.
+ One-handed (excpet dual-wielding) no longer affect Unarmed, they now have seperate perks to increase damage.
+ Three new unique perks

If you have any bugs or issues, please feel free to relay them to me. As far as I know, it should work fine, but there are always issues with any mod.

This mod adds an Unarmed perk tree to the game. To get the item that lets you fight Unarmed and raise your One-Handed, go to either Belethor's Goods in Whiterun or the Riverwood Trader to purchase it. You can also add it via the console with the perk code. Using the item will not raise the Unarmed "skill", but raises the OneHanded skill, so it does affect the Unarmed Weapon scaling.

Credit goes to Takikun and his mod for the idea on how to make the weapon advance the One-Handed skill: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7707

"Unarmed Weapon"

* Purchasable at Belethor's Goods and Riverwood Trader, or free with perk code
* 4 Base Damage
* Affected by One-Handed perks
* Equippable with either hand, so you can use another item at the same time
* Allows you to wear armor and still keeps the effect
* Raises your one-handed with use

Unarmed Weapon Item Code: 03002DDA

At some point I would like to add new Unarmed weapons to the game (similar to the ones in Fallout). I do not, however, have any skill or experience with modeling. So, if you are up to it, and are interested in unarmed weapons for Skyrim, feel free to build models and textures for unarmed weapons and I will add them to the mod (and will credit you for them).

How to help:

If you would like to help me out with this mod, there are a number of aspects that I cannot do myself. I have little-to-no skill with modeling and animation, and I need some work before becoming proficient with Papyrus. The major thing missing in this mod is that there is no script that levels your One-Handed skill as you fight with Unarmed attacks. If any of you know how and would like to contribute, I would gladly welcome a script that adds that function. Also, I hope to include new animations and new unarmed weapons (like in Fallout 3). If you are an animator or modeler and are interested in helping out, comment or message me and I'll welcome your help.

Another way to help is to make YouTube videos featuring the mod. If you have a gaming channel and make a video for my mod, then I will link to your video and be very thankful to you. :-)

If you help out with the mod in any way, then I will CREDIT you for you work.

If these codes do not work for you, then you may have another mod that has caused them to change. If that is the case, then either deactivate the mod and type them in, or type the following into the console:

help "perk or item name" 4

That code will tell you the code for anything with that name.

These are the codes for the unique perk added to the One-Handed skill tree. Make sure and add them in this order:

Exhilarating Blows Rank 1: 03002306
Exhilarating Blows Rank 2: 03002307
Exhilarating Blows Rank 3: 03002308

Disarming Blow (requires rank two in Exhilarating Blows, adds chance to disarm): 03002DDB

Flurry (incerases attack speed of unarmed attacks): 030028AF

Staggering Blow (chance to stagger enemies): 03003E14

Deadly Blows (increases damage of Unarmed attacks): 03004545 - 03004549 (sequentially, for each rank)

Unarmed Charge (same effect as Critical Charge): 03004E4B

Unarmed Stance (same effect as Fighting stance): 03004E4A

Fists of Power (Light Armor perk, same as Fists of Steel): 03002876

Here is a list of the future modifications that I have planned:

+ Unique unarmed weapons (like in Fallout)
+ Modify Fists of Steel and Fists of Power perks so that they take modified armor ratings into account (if possible)
+ Allow killshot anims for left hand attack (if possible)

I've found a bug it seems. After my game suddenly closed, I opened it up again to find that I can no longer access the Unarmed skill tree. I have the one-handed skills up to grab the perks, but it refuses to allow me use my perks on them.

While nicely scripted, the author has been very lax with documentation.
Unlike stated, this version of the mod does not require the unarmed weapon to level up and does not affect the Onehanded skill tree. Instead, it replaces the 'Pickpocketing' tree and places all pickpocketing perks under 'Sneak'. This will also cause you to get both 'pickpocketing increased' and 'unarmed increased' messages, but otherwise it appears to work fine.

how do i level up the unarmed skill?

Great mod, but does anyone else have a random object atattched to their character when the unarmed weapon is equiped? Because there's like a stick of charcoal floating between my characters legs whenever I have it equiped

Is it impossible to make new perk trees in Skyrim? I just hate it when a mod simply takes away one of my skills, pickpocket in this case, completely away.

I'm not sure i understand how to level up the Unarmed tree. It sounds like I can use this new weapon for the One-Handed tree, do i just not have anything in my hands to level Unarmed?

I may try this just for the pickpocket/sneak tree merges. though unarmed facebashing is fun from time to time

From comment under me: Do i just have too pickpocket people too lvl up my unarmed?

So im using this mod and i've been using the unarmed weapons and lvled up my 1handed weapons too 22 and it says in unarmed tree 1handed weapons 21.... Only reason my unarmed is 21 is because i read a pickpocketing book...

This is by far the best unarmed mod i have seen. Although becaus the perks take place of the pikcpocketing i guess my theif is going to have very pwerfull fists early game now.
