TF2: How to Install a Custom Skin
Random guide/tutorial to teach you how to install a custom skin in TF2
So you see people bragging on almost every public server about their 'special' custom skins and have been wondering how to do it for a long time but can't be stuffed to actually look at a tutorial. Well today, you can just bring out this thread when you're dead and read it!
Very Part with LOTS of Pictures :D
OK, so first you should go into a website called GameBanana and go to the top, right hand corner and type in your desired weapon. I typed 'Bushwaka' because it was a weapon I had not done before:
Next, click on any of the pictures that appeal to you:
Scroll down and click the button that says download:
Wait untill the advertisement is finished and then if a download windows does not show up, press the 'direct link' button:
After waiting for it to download, a screen should pop up something like this (I use WinRAR so yeah, may look different to yours):
Now go to your 'C:' drive:
Scroll down to Program Files (x86):
Scroll down to Steam (may take a while):
Click on 'steamapps':
Then your account name:
After that Team Fortress 2:
And finally 'tf':
Now extract all the files to 'C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\"Your Account Name Here"\team fortress 2\tf'.
In some cases, when you open the downloads folder, it will say 'tf' and inside it will be materials and models. If this is the case, you just need to open to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\"Your Account Name Here"\team fortress 2 and extract the files to there.
I'm not too sure but I don't think that other people will see them, unless they have to skin and the server allows it.
In conclusion, I hope this has helped you... blah blah blah, you get what I mean
