Thievery Redesigned

Description
The latest version of this mod is now here[www.nexusmods.com] on Nexus. This remains as a completely functional legacy version.

This mod requires Merged Thievery Skill[skyrim.nexusmods.com] for it to work. Load Thievery Redesigned AFTER Merged Thievery Skill (MTS).

=Introduction=
This mod builds on MTS which combines Lockpicking and Pickpocket into one tree called Thievery which now levels through both picking locks and pockets. The Lockpicking tree is now unused, for mods that replace it with a new skill, see the MTS mod page.

I'm using this because I believe this to be the only way of making Lockpicking and Pickpocket useful without using artificial contrivances. Now merged only the best perks of both trees remain and new ones were added or altered to make the tree truly viable. Check out the image to see which perks were chosen.

=New Perks=
Mole: Once per day, this power can clear the personal crime record from all but capital crimes.

This power fixes pickpocketing by making failure no longer inevitable (or save scumming required). You can now pickpocket safely until being caught use the power and then either test your luck or wait till the next day. You will still need to hide from guards that caught you!

Night Thief: During the night, pick locks without being noticed, gain a pickpocketing bonus of 20% and sense gold on civilians while sneaking.

I really like this perk because it incentivises natural thief behaviour, meaning stealing at night. While sneaking you will see a color-coded aura depending on the amount of gold on the civilian (see picture).

=Other Changes=
Max Pickpocket Chance was raised to 99% up from 90% because skill should matter and failure isn't fun but 100% would remove all the tension.

=Compatibility=
Due to the nature of the mod it will most likely not be compatible with any mod that changes Lockpicking or Pickpocket perks. Merged Thievery Skill uses a respec Script which gives you back all the points spent on perks changed by the mod.

=Complementary Mods=
Less Lockpicks[skyrim.nexusmods.com]: Best way to make the Lockpicking perks matter imo.
Speech Redesigned: Restructures the tree in a more sensible way.

=Credits=
LukeH[skyrim.nexusmods.com] for his Merged Thievery Skill[skyrim.nexusmods.com] mod. Give the guy some love he saved me loads of time that I'm not even sure I would have invested if I had to have started from scratch.

Im actually a fan of this mod... The gold sensing to me isnt that overpowering and if you have decent skills or luck all you have to do is steal the gold :P

all in all i like this mod and would recomend it

Downloading, but I think the gold sense should be an Illusion spell.

It's only during the night while sneaking and only with non-hostiles.

sounds realy nice but i like my rp and the constant auras would be a deal breaker for me, if it was an activatable skill perhaps then im sold.

This is nice, I wish the ability to see gold on people could happen at any time, not just night. Still really great though.
