Mabynna's Spirit Summons

"The shaman has rewarded me with knowledge of the Skaal nature magic. He has taught me the Skaal rituals to summon spirits to fight by my side." - The Diary of Mabynna the Mad

Inspired by the Bloodmoon expansion to Morrowind, here are four spells to summon animal spirits. In most respects these spells will behave like the Conjure Familiar spell. The Summoner and Twin Souls will work as expected. All spirits have frost resistance, and will level with the player to a limited extent.

Call Fox Spirit (novice, levels 2-6)
Call Wolf Spirit (apprentice, levels 6-12)
Call Sabre Cat Spirit (adept, levels 12-18)
Call Bear Spirit (expert, levels 18-24)

The only way to learn these spells is to find the tomes that teach these ancient rituals. Fortunately for the player, they may be found in various inns throughout western Skyrim. The first may be found in Dead Man's Drink in Falkreath, the others are left for the players to discover on their own.

Note: Dragon born is NOT required to use this mod.

The first book is in plain site sitting on a table in one of the rooms. If you can't find it, it may have glitched underneath, so look under the tables as well.

Could you make a new mod where they are followers and last for ever or maybe they could be a power like "summon spectral assassain" where they stay until they are defeated?

They last just as long as regular familiar. Exact time depends on your perks and dual-casting, so one to two minutes depending. They are not atronachs, so atromancy does not apply.

You could put a book in the game pre-telling the history and story of the spirts. Its up to you its been 2 years since.

Yes, these spirits have a level range. The bear spirit will never be more powerful than a really big bear. Possibly in the distant future I may apply the Elemental Potency perk, but not at the moment.

I really don't want to create quests for these. The only reason I "hid" them in inns is to keep them from being freebies. Hint: The inns are not scattered, there is a pattern to them as if someone was traveling from one city to another.

Second create quest chain of sorts varring in difficulty to obtain the spirit. You go about this in a number of different which is perfect opitunity to use some more creativity to tie this mod into the lore into skyrim in fun way.An example of this is a Duird mod call "Wrath of Nature - The Champion of Kynareth" theres a review on youtube by Brodual that explain this concept/the mod in detail.

I really look forward to seeing how this mod grows to become would be the best shaman mod for skyrim mod out there! =).
