CrazyRabbit's Tactical Flashlight

An improved looking flashlight using a combination of the original L4D2 and Half Life 2 flashlight textures together and applying a blue LED tint. Makes the flashlight seem brighter in dark areas. View comparison.

I appreciate the work you obviously put into this. I'm not saying it's a bad mod---In fact, it looks very realistic. But after using it for more than a year, I chose to go back to the normal default flashlight. Overall, the main difference is just in the appearance of the flashlight beam IMO, and some people may prefer this over the normal flashlight.

Either way, thank you for contributing to the community! I only wrote my previous review to let others know what to expect based on my experience with the mod.

Unless you mean the beam texture emitted from other people's weapons which I did give a blue tint.

It was my first mod for L4D2 and has never been updated since I made it (4 years ago). It's probably not for everyone and that was the most in-depth comment I've ever received as to why it's not for you. Cheers mate. (FYI: I never changed the beam because it uses particles and I was only editing the image file).

I really do not feel like this mod improves the flashlight much, if at all. I usually turn my brightness up a couple notches in games with lots of darkness, and after playing MANY games with this mod...it just didn't seem to make a difference. Slightly bigger lit area, and I guess it looks...different? That's about it.

I unsubscribed because I found the modded flashlight's beam to be strangely too sharp, like it didn't belong in the surrounding environment. Also because, again, it didn't really help, and the dark ring(s) in the flashlight beam were somewhat annoying.
