Helms Deep

Helms Deep! From the wonderful Lord of the Rings

Current Version: BETA 003

Due to my inability to back this up, it's impossible for me to continue working on it, as such this release will be the last.

There are chances this thing falls to pieces with multiple players when you involve networking, it's not something I can easily test quickly as such, it very well could just die. Please let me know if things break (like the wall going boom)

AI pathing has been changed SO MANY TIMES that I really do hope it's as close to flawless as I can make it. HOWEVER, if you have any weird/stuck/lost/drunk AI, let me know!

  • Standard Campaign (at the moment)
  • 12 waves
  • 7Chests with 140mana each
  • Terrible loot? Terrible loot!
  • 120DU - Enough? Seemed to be for my tests on Medium (because noob)
  • Nightmare, no Djinn, because I didnt add them yet, no goblin copters, because they got forgotten about. There should probably be a decent enemy count though, I hope :x
  • Supports 6 players

Some (very slightly) iffy behavior here and there, but overall very impressive, truly kudos on the work and much appreciated.

yeah... it is impossible to figure out where they are spawning. really need to have a fixed spawning spot for this to work well. otherwise you are going to have a lot of trouble just trying to defend. Chuck does have a good point though, at least put all the spawns in the plains. doesnt matter where. but make it feel like helms deep. doesnt need to have the stages.

Great looking map, but i think i'd play it more if the mobs didn't already spawn on the walls. If the mobs actually spawned on the plain and made their way to the battlements that would be way cooler. Of course you'd need way more mobs to make this feesible but it would give a more helms deep feel. The way it is now it's almost pointless putting defenses down in certain places as the mobs spawn in behind your towers making your towers useless. It's much more fun to have this map defensible in stages: first stage would be trying to defend the main battlements, second stage would be if a kobold gets through your defenses to the lower wall to blow it up, third stage would be the final defense area in the main courtyard. Don't get me wrong this is a great looking map for sure, but i doubt i will play it anymore due to the mobs spawning all over the walls.
